Ottawa fans. It sounds like y’all wouldn’t mind a shakeup and to move some long term money out. What would y’all be looking for in a Norris trade.
OTT
  1. Ceulemans, Corson
  2. 2025 1st round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
Protected first

This isn’t meant to be a lowball, just a convo starter. As pinpointing a player like Norris value was is difficult.

Injury problems, and in a down year.

But young center who is locked up long term which would be appealing to cbj.

Stay awayyyyyyyy. He was the beneficiary of a ridiculous shooting % in his contract year. Dangerous dangerous contract.

Yet he’s still on pace for 30 goals in a bad year both defensively and offensively after coming back from a serious injury

I don’t get it, but if CBJ wants to spend assets to bring Norris into the Metro, guess I’m for it as a canes fan.

It would be a gamble on his health but if he’s actually playing it’s a smart move. Young center on a long term contract that is manageable for the role he plays.

If we get a first at the deadline, we could flip that to y’all instead of the 25 first

An injury prone 1b center who does not appear to be able to replicate his contract year #s, whats not to love. It is at best a gamble, that if it pays off leaves you with an elite 1-2-(3?) center core for a few years. However if it goes the other way it can set the rebuild back 2 years. CBJ has already been pushing unsuccessfully.

Absolutely a gamble, however it’s not going to be as dreadful if the gamble doesn’t pan out. Worst case we suck in 25 and the puck slides to 26 and by then with our current young core of Fantilli marchenko Johnson and jiricek plus the players we pick in 24 and 25 on top of the vets we have, we should be at least competitive. If it does pan out we have a 1A in Fantilli and a 1B in Norris. Keep sillinger as 3c and have a great center core that can compete for a cup.

Norris should definitely be a watch-listed player for CBJ. There are some flags in his game that are interesting, and also some that are concerning, but they would have to do their due diligence. I've been trying to catch some games to see if I can square his deficiencies. CBJ definitely could use some C talent and he could fit. I'm not sure he's currently performing up to his contract but that's a reason that CBJ might be able to buy low.

He's a Michigan kid, though he doesn't have any crossover with CBJ rosters players. Still, leaves room for building an offseason nucleus of Michigan players.

Worth looking at at the least.

I would definitely think they'd be looking to get an impact player back. Sens aren't looking to take a step back in terms of a competitive roster. Maybe a Patrick Laine? Not sure if CBJ fans are still wanting to move him. Obviously some additional moves to clear cap for OTT but that could be an interesting "shakeup"

Absolutely I would move laine for him. But I think they want to shed cap to extend guys like chychrun and aquire a right shot defender.

    Columbus takes that, I think.
