You want Jenner and that much retention on Elvis for some cap dumps, a failed prospect, a non-prospect, and other teams' late picks? Try again.

No matter how good you think jenner is (hes basically a low end 2nd liner) hes not worth taking two bad contracts back, especially with that term

You want to dump half of an awful goalie contract, a horrible peeke contract and only give up a low end 2nd liner? Try again

I don't see how any of those CBJ players have high trade value at this time... Plus, I'm not too sure you can call a 22 y/o sniper a failed prospect. If I were a CBJ fan, I'd be excited at the idea of boosting your prospect pool.

literally the only thing of value for columbus is Brodie, and he doesn't even fit their timeline and he'll probably leave. Everything else is either too low in their prospect pool/won't make the team now or in the future

Literally the only thing of value going to the leafs is a 3rd liner and hes not worth taking one of the other contracts let alone both even if the only return to columbus is a 3rd

Oh, then that's very sweet of you to be so worried about a lowly little franchise like Columbus. Such benevolence.

Alas, reality is a little different. Jenner is the team's captain, signed for multiple more seasons to a very undermarket deal he signed specifically to stay in Columbus, and is a massivve fan favorite. The backlash alone they'd get from moving Jenner would not be worth it for a team who's already had huge PR problems recently. He's a faceoff wizard, plays with grit in all situations, and can pot 25-30 goals a season. Every team in the league wants a Jenner and almost every single team can fit him into their cap even now, so as soon as someone else offers a first and a real prospect without any baggage contracts coming back, Brad's calls are going unanswered. You see where I'm going with this? It means he's extremely valuable in multiple ways, and your cap dumps, late picks, and a prospect redundant to a team who's got the rights to players Dumais and Brindley already for tiny wingers just aren't interesting. And that's not even demanding 10 million dollars in retention over four seasons for Elvis.

This is kinda wild. Elvis at 2.7 is a fine deal. He’s an above 900 goalie on a terrible team and Jenner is typically on pace for 30/30 each year while playing against other teams top opponents. While on a sweetheart deal that goes for 3 playoff runs.
The Toronto package is a bunch of smaller players or lower prospects and depth picks. This isn’t enough for Elvis at half retained and that’s before adding Jenner.

Your commitment to the bit is commendable but in reality this is a horrible move for the jackets. The leafs are sending smaller pieces and the jackets are giving up a starting goalie half retained and a center who has been consistently over a 30/30 pace player since the torts firing.

Jenner, you would be completely off on. He has insane value at his caphit and term. Plus with the play style he has and the leadership he brings to a room would be great for a team like Toronto.

Now Robertson, we already have a plethora of young wingers like chinakhov, Johnson, marchenko, voronkov, and guys in the system like brinley and dumais. He already wouldn’t have a spot and would likely get passed up.

Ah yes "the bit". Much like the one where columbus fans act like elvis is an asset or that jenner would get more than 40 points on a team with actual top 6 centers

Elvis at half retained is an asset. At full cap hit? Absolutely not. But in this scenario half retained would have some value, Especially to a team like Toronto who have woll on injury reserve for extended periods of time.

Plus jenner would definitely hit those numbers on the leafs or any other solid team. But hey if you don’t think Jenner is that good, fine just say he isn’t worth acquiring. Don’t tell us that he’s dog**** because you think he wouldn’t put those numbers up. Let’s look at what he has done and value him accordingly, as that’s the player we are trading away.

No, elvis is not an asset at 50% retained. Hes a near 30 year old with bad numbers with term at almost 3 mill aav. He isnt worth squat.
And no, jenner would not hit those numbers on a good team, because on a good team his ice time would be slashed drastically and his power play time would vanish, which is what happens when you are the third best c option instead of the 1st.

You’re acting like Jenner is in the Matthew’s slot he’s net front and gets greasy goals off rebounds and he’s damn good at it. You’re maybe right as he may be on the second unit but he’s definitely one of your best options for a net front player. He also brings a lot defensively and as is already known can play against top lines and with top players if needed.

If we are moving him, we are going to expect a return for the player he is for us, not what you think he might do for you. That’s the bottom line. So no this offer is not close.

As far as Elvis is concerned, you can think what you want. Elvis plays infront of a crap team defensively and still put up decent numbers this year. This I’ll agree to disagree.

Have a great rest of your day as I don’t see this going anywhere.

Yeah, jenner would not be in that spot on the leafs, hed be their 3c instead of domi who is not a c and cannot drive play so they would move domi to wing.
Jenner isnt displacing Bertuzzi or knies in the top 6 and he'd be lucky to put up 20-20 in 14ish mins of icetime for the leafs, so he is 100% not worth taking on peekes contract let alone elvis' bad deal.
And if elvis was half decent hed put up even half decent numbers behind a bad team because that's how it works with goalies, and he is in no way worth 2.7 mill x 4
