I would be shocked if Ottawa hadn't at least asked about Weegar, he's obviously the exact kind of guy they need. That said, I'm gonna wait til someone more credible than Pagnotta brings something to the table. Dude's had some real scoops, but he's wrong more than he's right. He takes the scatter shot approach to hockey rumours. Throw enough darts at the board you'll hit a few bullseyes

Just cause they inquire doesn't mean they are that interested or that they other team wants to move them.

They get the exact defenseman they need in this deal. Very worth while for Ottawa. Chychrun and Weegar paired together?

Losing Chychrun while adding Weegar is not a gain IMO. Its lateral. They should be trying to add a guy like Weegar in ADDITION to Chychrun.

IMO yes. Not sure if it was you or someone else who mentioned it in another post but I think Chabot is the guy they should move out for help. Not Chychrun.

I agree they both have their own flaws tho. I’d be okay moving both out and retooling properly

I see how Weegar for Chychrun addresses the need for Ottawa: they get a veteran presence that is defensively responsible. Calgary gets younger.

Still, I'm not sure it is enough of a change for either team to try and get these players to move. Weegar has a NMC.
