Well I suppose that's good! Kaprisov, Boldy, JEE, Rossi, Faber and Brodin would all be rebuilt around, there's just a lot of excess depth veterans that need to be moved off for assets to this team can grab a new identity and stop being mediocre

Would happen in the offseason where they can probably afford 4 million I would think.

Podz wouldn't get a fair shot in the lineup anyway if the Canucks wanna go all in with this core now rather than 2-3 years down the road

Has he? I haven't watched enough Jon Merrill tape this year for an assessment, I just know Tampa has been looking real thin on D

If Alvin wants to go all in next year and the year after than yeah 100%, he brings a ton of experience which is something Vancouver needs come playoff time and has 30G 60+ point upside! He would be great with Petey or Miller and would give Alvin flexibility to trade Kuzy since it seems like he wants to

I've watched a few Minnesota games and he's been invisible and a liability the majority of the time. My original comment comes from my buddy from Minnesota who wants Merrill fired into the sun cause of how bad he's been lol

You are correct - Merrill is not worth a 4th. He's FC at best. I doubt he'd be claimed off waivers, he's quite bad.

He's still on pace for nearly 30 goals this year while being signed for 4 million long term, seems like a good deal to me

Canucks decline. Allvin has been pretty set on creating a team for the future, targeting younger players. I doubt Zuccarello would fit into the team's future plans.
