Even then, we have Perron, Sprong, Ghost who can go at the deadline, plus Berggren if Yzerman is interested in moving him like reports say. Kane isn't signing for 2 months and then moving again. He's close to Chicago, close to Buffalo, playing excellent. He didn't even want to leave the Hawks when they were trash. He's here to play and that's it. Easy as that.
When Kane signed I got the impression he wants to end his career in Detroit.
That's just my gut feeling. Neither he or Yzerman said that.
But of course Yzerman wanted to see if Kane's hip held up so a 1 year deal made sense.
Before the season started I figured Kane would have 3 years left.
So a 1 year "prove it deal" followed by a 2 year extension.
The Red Wings are my second favorite team and my Sharks stink.
Being on the west coast I can usually watch both team's games.
I've seen every game Kane has played for Detroit and I think it's safe to say he's more than met expectations.
I think only Larkin and Cat are averaging more minutes of ice time per game for forwards.
I think the only way Kane gets traded is if he asks for it.
Yzerman will certainly accommodate him if that's what he wants.
But all these rumors of "Kane being traded" are complete BS.
Yzerman doesn't leak anything.
The Cat rumors were all coming out of Ottawa with blabbermouth Dorion trying to drive the price up.
