I don’t think that Greenway is a player Vancouver should target. They are already getting great results from the bottom six, and there is enough size throughout the lineup to warrant a playoff run. Vatrano is intriguing, but ultimately the acquisition cost will be far too high for a guy who is having a career year and will likely never repeat this level of production. That being said, at the moment Vatrano will cost much more than Kuzmenko alone.

There’s a report that came out that Greenway is a deadline target for the Canucks and that they’ve been interested in acquiring him since he was in Minnesota, which is why there’s been quite a few Greenway to VAN trades on here lately

And did that report say ANYTHING about him actually being AVAILABLE ???

Nothing that said he was available, but Rick Dhaliwal (best source for Canucks news) is the guy who came out with it. Said he’s a player they’ve been interested in and he thinks they’ll check in on him before the deadline, but he never mentioned if he thinks Buffalo would move him

Personally I’m not very high on him as a trade target anyways and hope we go in a different path. And it seems like Buffalo is happy with him so it seems like that’ll be the case, so a win-win

Canucks need a center for when Petey goes Lotto line. Henrique, Monahan, Roslovic type of players that they (Canucks) can afford without selling the farm. I like Monahan personally, who can also play wing and support Petey as another center when Petey is split of the Lotto line. Kuzmeno - Petey - Monahan, Mikyhev - Miller - Boeser or Lotto Line , Kuzmenko - Monahan - Garland. Monahan might be open to staying if things go well and Canucks could probably afford his price tag ($3M?).

ANY trade for Greenway or Mittelstadt would require an over pay that would price them out your reach.
Greenway would cost more assets than Buffalo used to acquire him, probably a couple of seconds or a good prospect, or a top 4 RHD then Buffalo would add to the deal.
Casey would require much more and also require an over pay as Buffalo is not planning on trading him.
When he plays on the top line is averages over a pt per game.

Greenway isn't worth trying to acquire at 50% retained, not enough of a needle mover imo
