Big no thanks on that Red Wings trade plus that pick is conditionally going to Ottawa.

Rangers have no cap room for him and D is not a priority. They need a 3C or RW.

Vancouver likely isn’t the team for Dowd. If they acquire a center, it will be someone who can comfortably play 2C.

Hoping they don't trade Dowd until next years deadline (unless they are somehow in it next year at this time).

Would like a world where the Caps hold onto him but they won’t get value like they could this year

Then they are downgraded. Dowd is (you know this) excellent defensively, can score, great on faceoffs...Caps have no one that could replace him.

certainly true, all comes down to if the Caps think they can compete next year or not. Though, if there is one gm that I would trust to find a cheap free agent depth replacement for Dowd, it would be MacLellan. He's proven his worth in that regard with Dowd, Hathaway, Gustafsson, Milano, etc. I'd certainly like to keep him if they think they can compete next year (hell, I own his jersey), but I imagine he'll move this offseason because I don't think they can completely convince themselves of that.
