Quoting: SociallyHawkward
I hope Richardson atleast gets a decent opportunity with an improved roster. I really like the system he put in place. It's actually fun to watch games even though you pretty much know the outcome. Give up the lead late and lose in the last couple minutes or in overtime.
I completely agree. But even those "better players" are going to need time to become professionals, learn how to win at the pro level, learn how to defend, learn to play his systems, etc. If KD is building mainly through the draft and development, we could be a long ways away from an "improved roster".
I to would also like to see him with an improved roster, but a lot could happen between now and then. Hopefully he takes pride in what he is helping build and wants to stick around to see it through, and/or hopefully he doesn't get scapegoated for the teams shortcomings too hastily and get replaced.
I'd bet that, if CHI is this bad next year, fans are gonna start screaming more than they already are. Which, personally, I think is dumb. More than likely, CHI has AT LEAST one more season of bad losses before we start seeing real improvements outside of maybe individual improvements and milestones. Seeing as Faulkner is President of Business ops and seems to be Danny Wirtz right hand, if profits start to look really grim, I could see business ops lobbying to put pressure on Kyle Davidson to improve the team prematurely. And that could mean Richardson being on his way out prematurely and a bunch of huge contracts that get us in trouble.
I'm worried about them changing their mind about their support of the long term rebuild and things getting ugly. If done right and with patience, i could easily see there being 3, 4, or even 5 more years before we start to see real results and that could be too long for them.
