SJS
  1. Knight, Spencer
  2. 2024 4th round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Florida should try to capitalize his value (if there is any). Rutta is overpayed but still a cheaper option than burying Knight and they could have him in 6/7d.
Knight has potential, depending on his substance abuse situation though.
IMO this would make Florida ready for playoffs with limited assets they have.
FLA
  1. Barabanov, Alexander
  2. Rutta, Jan
Additional Details:
Rutta is overpayed so doesn't have really value.
Barabanov has been 3/4th liner since his injury.

Knight has potential to be their 'the guy' in the upcoming years.
2.
SJS
  1. Schmidt, Nate
  2. 2024 1st round pick (WPG)
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Sadly he makes this much money. Great guy, SJS could need him to keep the things positive and have a great pro showing example.
WPG
  1. Ferraro, Mario
  2. Granlund, Mikael
  3. 2024 4th round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
2nd line centre who plays wpg style hockey has an extra year which helps wpg as they have problems getting ufas.
Ferraro is a depth d-man with term who is really liked presence in the locker room. Can jump up to top 4 easily in case they have injuries.
Reminder: the first & the second are late picks

WPG fans have deserved one all-in type of season.
3.
SJS
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (NYR)
  2. 2024 4th round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Was thinking adding Goodrow here with 1st, but I feel that would be more a summer type of deal as Goodrow has won the cup and is a playoff type guy.
NYR
  1. Duclair, Anthony
Additional Details:
50% retained
4.
STL
  1. Carpenter, Ryan
Additional Details:
Get Vrana to test him out. He has potential but is a top 6 guy.
Low risk - high reward
5.
SJS
  1. 2024 6th round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Rental for cheap price
CAR
  1. Labanc, Kevin
Additional Details:
He is not going to be extended.
Minimal value because of the cap hit
6.
SJS
  1. 2024 5th round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Reward for the team. He can be a depth guy with 2nd PP role. They have chance to get in the playoffs.
NSH
  1. Hoffman, Mike
Additional Details:
Minimal value because of the cap hit
7.
SJS
  1. 2025 4th round pick (NJD)
NJD
  1. Kähkönen, Kaapo
Additional Details:
Goalie value through the league is small at the moment because no one has cap space.

Has won the cup, knows what it takes
9.
SJS
  1. Broberg, Philip
Additional Details:
Going for the cup. He has no future in the organization
EDM
  1. Benning, Matthew
  2. 2024 4th round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Depth RD for EDM

Canes are a bad fit for Labanc, he probably sits in the press box in Raleigh

There's no incentive for Winnipeg to do that. They're one of the best teams with one of the best defenses in the NHL right now. It's unlikely they mess with that to overpay in a bad trade.

definitely hear your point. Especially, when Schmidt is a great locker room guy.

Who would you like to see that they go after for the 2nd line center role?

I'm totally down for a Granlund trade to the Jets but it wouldn't be involving our 1st and we have no interest in Ferraro.

Not the player the canes spend their TDL space on. Not a comment on the cost, rather the opportunity cost. Prevents acquiring defensive and goal tending depth we will need.

I don't really know. I imagine Chevy will end up going after someone that none of us know is available.

FYI Knight never had substance abuse issues. He has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) that got out of hand and spiraled into a bad depression and he needed to get help.

I get why Duclair is so popular for the Rangers but I dont think hes the right fit for us.

Who would you rather want to add? Someone to play with Zibanejad & Kreider? Kakko can be dropped down to 3rd line as he is defensively really good

Duclair is a mediocre player, its a trade for a RW for the sake of making a trade. Hes horrible defensively and nothing special offensively. Personally Is rather drop Kreider from that line to 3rd, put Cuylle there and leave Kakko as RW.

Panthers aren’t gonna dump knight for nothing. Me may not have a lot of value to the league but he’s still their future. They wanted him in the ahl to get playing time all year. He doesn’t have a drug problem either. Next season he’ll be back in Florida to start the take over when bob contract is up in 2 seasons.
