Soucy Out

Created by: Prime_Jimbo

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 22, 2024

Description
With Soucy out another month, this deal just seems to make more and more sense.

Much more sense than when I traded the Sedins in NHL16 and Monahan ended up the Canucks in some random acGM shenanigans.

This would be selling real low on Kovacevic but Hughes might consider it

Calm down, Vancouver is the best team in the league. If they make it to the Conferences final, that 1st will have a 2nd round pick's value. Nowhere close a MaSsIvE oVeRpAy...

Oh wow, your right when teams trade for rentals they tend to be shocker playoff teams and usual the better playoffs teams, its almost like if you look at past rental trades that information would also be baked in.... Oh right it is. What a pointless statement. Like more than double his actual value isn't way out in left field.

So what you are saying is that the "better playoffs teams" are more inclined to give away their 1st? Great that's my point.

As for a low 1st being "more than double his actual value", since a low 1st can be traded gor a 2nd +3rd, that would means Monahan's value is a 3rd, and that my friend is way out in left field!

A low 1st is multiple mid to high seconds you can literally look it up (27th got 40th and 51st) and believe it or not playoff teams with low firsts also have shockingly correspondingly low seconds. So when you say a first instead of a second he's worth, it is again, more than double his value.

Believe it or not, teams van have more than just their own picks to trade away.

Believe it or not, the 32nd and the 33rd pick have the same value even if they are not in the sale round.

Believe it or not, CLB trade their 29th (1st) for the 34th (2nd) and 68th (3rd).

Believe it or not, NYI traded a 28th (1st) for the 33rd (2nd) an 72nd (3rd).

Believe it or not, Monahan will fetch at least a conditional 1st+, like Copp or Pageau.
