The cost to move samsonov at the deadline would be like a 3rd and kk is worth like a 4th max. No way is there a 1st involved there at all

The Kings have no interest in more left-handed forwards.

Avs decline. Sturm wasn't a very good fit last time around regardless of being on the cup team.

I'd take the Leafs trade. Not that it'll happen.

Decline the rest.

According to Friedman the cost to acquire a goalie is very high in the current market, and there's been a lot of interest in Kahk. So saying he's worth a 4th max is just incorrect. With that said, a 1st is way too much. I wouldn't be surprised a 2nd for Kahk, especially if he keeps playing the way he has

That's good, because that's an awful return for SJ

no, it's not. Goalies never have very high value, and bad backup goalies certainly dont. And even so if they were to skyrocket so miraculously that this would return a 1st for san jose, then Samsonov would warrant the sharks second coming back.
And by your own logic, if Samsonov keeps playing the way he has for the past couple games he'll be worth even more because he actually has a very good season as a starter just last year.

What are you even saying? Friedman is literally reporting that the cost to acquire a goalie is high this year. That's not my opinion, that's literally what the most reputable insider is reporting.

Second of all, I agreed that a 1st is too much, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Sammy has the worst numbers IN THE LEAGUE in terms of Saves above expected, and Kahk was around 15th best in the league about a week or so ago. If Sammy continues to have better and better numbers then yes, his value will increase a bit. But as of now, no he's no where near having any positive value

Never did I mention last year's stats so I'm not sure what you're even mean by "by my logic". Everyone knows that goaltenders value fluctuates a TON season by season, so throw last year out the window, teams care about how they look now

so the leafs should trade Martin Jones then, he's been one of the best goalies in the league this year and because friedman said goalies cost a lot that means they should get what. 2 firsts for him?
As of right now KK is 21st in saves above expected, so he's tumbling fast looks like, And yeah, goalies do fluctuate a lot from season to season, even month to month. which is why saying that a guy is worth SO much more than another after 20 games is just silly. Samsonov had a rough start, he will get better because he's going to regress back to normalish for his career, same with KK.
Neither goalie is worth much and any trade where they are exchanged would not have a 2nd trading hands, let alone a 1st. You dont give up high end picks for what amounts to 1 goal every other game

Can you read? I said twice that I AGREE THAT A FIRST IS TOO MUCH.

Yes, Jones does have good value. If Toronto were sellers they'd get a decent return for him. No not two 1sts, you're just being troll because you can't seem to comprehend what I'm saying.

Jones and Kahk are actually very close on that list at 17 and 21. Kahk is 19th if you take out Rittich and Greaves who have played 8 or less games. He's 12th if you're only counting people who have played 20 or more. Him and Jones both are top 30 goaltenders which means they have been very good. Sammy is 91st, literally last. He hasn't been good recently, otherwise he wouldn't be last. You can't just say he'll get better and take that as fact, he has to show it.

A 2nd would be really good return, not saying that's the most likely return but it's possible. And I'll repeat again, never did I say he's worth a 1st

no you've obviously missed the point. Jones does not have that kind of value. Just like KK does not have any actual value. 15 good games does not mutate a bad goalie with bad value into a good goalie with good value. Outside of like 4-5 guys in the entire league goalies value is incredibly low. It has been forever no matter what Friedman says because with goalies you pay for consistency. KK does not have that, Jones does not have that. And Samsonov, because of how goalies work, will probably have comparable numbers, at worst, to both by the end of the season.

Even with our playoff push the Flyers management is still committed to the rebuild as this could be a fluke, so I can't see them selling draft capital for rentals.

Jake Allen, Freddy Andersson, Georgiev, Varlamov, Korpisalo, DeSmith, Reimer (the first trade at the deadline), Nedeljkovic, Talbot (in 2015), Literally Martin Jones in 2015. All these guys got 3rds, 2nds, even plenty got 1sts in return in recent memory.
