I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM -- provided, of course, that you are able to acquire that 2024 second-round draft pick. But why are you shorting yourself half a million on the retention?

Did you hear that C Mac was scouting in Anaheim?

Hawks decline. Olausson isn't a good enough prospect to cover dumping Ryjo and trade back two drafts in the pick swap.

Chicago doesn't even respond to that. Maybe without the 2nd rounder being traded back to Colorado the Hawks consider it.

Y'all gave 4m to Perry and then Fuglino. O.O to take on a year of RyJo is right up your tanking alley.

Hawks would probably be willing to take on Ryjo. The deal probably looks something like this: Ryjo and the Av's '26 2nd to Hawks for future considerations. Av's can then plug O.O. into their top 6. Everybody's happy.

Don't be surprised if Parise signs and starts skating w/the team post-ASB.

Now this is a scoop. You mean with the Avs and not Isles?

Yep - Avs or Bruins, but it sounds like Avs.

Michael Russo, MNs beat writer at The Athletic, mentioned it this week on his pod. I don't have a timestamp sorry - had it on in the background while working and that part caught my ear. He said it's Avs or Bs after ASB, but expects Avs. Several teams had interest.

Take it for what it's worth. He runs the pod out of a bar, so it's hard to know what's speculation vs. reporting, but he's def chummy with ZP and called him to the Isles well before it was picked up by mainstream.

But we did so without giving up assets and without helping another team in a cap crunch, and it's right up our alley not to help a team out for free and thus to weaponize our cap space so pay up

O.O is worth around a 2nd imo, so it was an overpay to take on RyJo and O.O for one of the 3 second round picks you have. Not as outlandish as you're making it seem.

OO had a bad AHL season last season and he's on pace for under .5ppg this season as well. As of now, it's hard to say he's even worth a 2nd and may wind up being nothing more than a tweener or even career AHL player which neither are worth a 2nd.

There shouldn't be a pick going back to Colorado from Chicago, well maybe a 5th or later

Sorry, but, Olaussen is not worth a 2nd, my dude. That ship has sailed. He wouldn't even make CHI's roster right now.
