Do you watch Leaf's games? he's more physical than he gets credit for. He has more hits than Savard, Lily is the by far the better skater, puck moving/passer, offensive.

as far as blocked shots he has 62 to Savard's 78 not that far off and with all that said he's 9 years younger on a cheaper contact that's cost controlled.

LMAO, hits don't equate to physicality, if they did then Caufield is more physical than either Savard or Liljegren. You are right though Liljegren is a better skater and passer and is younger but so is Mete and look where he is now. Liljegren isn't a better D man than Savard, he isn't better than Mete, no way he is better than Savard

Wow just a week or so ago Samsonov could have been claimed for nothing and now he is worth a solid (cheap) defender and a pick? Seriously!? Seeler is worth a 3rd and maybe more. The Flyers aren't trading for a goalie, this clearly something they knew could happen.

Hart is probably gone for the year. Not many goalies out there and Philly needs someone to play with Ersson. Not ideal for Philly but Sammy has been coming around to form and may give them a shot to stay in their position and make playoffs

Savard and Lily are 2 different players not taking into consideration the fit for the team just looking at the player liljegren is by far the better option.

Savard is better defensively but is older and way slower with no offensive ability. Lily is just stating to hit that age that D start to blossom.

What is Lily’s ceiling? Is he a shut down guy? He is average size, not physical, not many points. What is he going to blossom into? For me, on a good team he will be a bottom pair guy his whole career

Agree 100%. Lily can’t move a guy in front of the net or win a corner battle. Both huge parts of the game(especially in playoffs). This is the part of physicality we are talking about.

We can agree to disagree, the Flyers likely knew this was coming and they could have claimed Sammy or Spencer Martin or Comrie in the last week or so. The Flyers aren't trading valuable picks for a goalie, they are still pushing for a rebuild. They have enough faith in Peterson, and they likely will keep an eye on the waiver wire.

Fair enough. Sammy is definitely a risk but if he continues playing the way he is now, a 6th D man would be a pretty good deal. But I definitely understand where your coming from and I wouldn’t want to lose Seeler either

Once this all gets worked out, I’m sure Hart will end up on some sort of IR and they will be able to use his money won’t they?

If he continues to play well why would you trade him? Seeler is likely to bring at least a 3rd and possibly more. I'm not sure you could get that for Sammy even with retention.

In regards to harts spot and cap hit, I'm sure they will find a way to remove that cap hit or at least open a roster spot. I mean last I heard every one of these players is still on the active roster (ouch what are the devils going to do).

That’s a pretty decent package for Savard. IMO

When are TML gonna realise they have no trade capital?

Nobody wants Robertson. Maybe four years ago they did, but not now.

Not likely, the NHL may void their contracts if/when found guilty but that could be years from now depending on how it all plays out with trials and such and by then most if not all their contracts will have expired.

Ya you’re right. I’m just gonna go back and revoke this deal. Sammy looks like an all star candidate these past two games. Seeler wouldn’t be enough at this point. Lol should of took the deal yesterday

I can’t see the NHL not giving teams the salary back for the players. It’s something that happened before they reached their NHL teams. Don’t think they will hold them accountable for anything. Harts money should come off the books until they figure this out. They can use that to get a replacement.

He has been one of our best players as of late. A healthy Robertson could really help with secondary scoring. Has more goals than Bertuzzi with less than half the ice time and PP.

Habs would take that deal and run, One for one Lily is the better option over Savard and its the Habs that should be adding

If he is better why trade for Savard. Your reasoning does not make any sense

He’s been severely limited by injury his entire career. I’m not sure he leapfrogs much of our top prospect pool, but I don’t see them giving up Greenway anyway. If he were the return for the other two, they might still think about that.

Since we are on CapFriendly lets use their scouting as a guide. Lilly is ranked 80 P2 and Savard 75 P3 Lily is ranked with a higher celling and high ranked among his peers in that group.

When you take into account ALL factors Lily is the better option.

I would assume they would need to terminate his contact like Chicago did with Perry. But then would they lose his RFA rights?

Yea they aren't terminating his contract until everything is sorted out in Canada. I have to believe there is some kind of bereavement list or reserve list available. I can't imagine that these teams would give up these players without a guilty verdict, some of them are quite valuable.

I think Perry was a different situation, aging player on a 1yr deal playing on a team that has had way to much negativity recently.
