Should make the bottom six better. What's not to like at that price?

When was Lou Lam named GM of the Av's >?

And where's Phil Kessel, some team must allow him to continue his streak and reach the 1000 points milestone.

Great signing for Colorado. Same situation as Drouin. A skilled player that is struggling but could eventually be important.

We now have OGWAC energy! Good veteran deal and depth scoring option that can be trusted in many situations. Expect this will mean less MacDermid playing at wing but will rotate in I'm sure.

Ideal fit for him at this point in his career is the 3rd best player on the 3rd line or on the 4th line. His strengths are generating offense and winning puck battles, weaknesses are defense and finishing.

Im surprised he signed anywhere else but with the Isles as he had stated earlier was his only destination, he had decent numbers last year. has a good shot at a cup in Colorado.

saying his weaknesses are:

"defense" when he was on the Islanders penalty kill last year, is a mutli-year Selke down ballot performer and is expected to be a responsible two-way forward with PK duties in Colorado

and "finishing" when he has career shooting % of 11.5% and repeated that last year with 21 goals in a 3rd line role.

Just seems like a lazy take?

Now, nobody is expected him to carry the mail and be a force in transition (we have plenty of guys on the roster to do that).

Think Gauthier took his place in Long Island so they probably didn't even offer him a contract

Parise’s struggles defensively at even strength. This isn’t new, he has been below average defensively for the past 4 seasons. It’s irrelevant what he did in the prime of his career.

Parise can still generate offense and get his high danger shots off , that’s the reason he’s able to score a decent amount. He’s above average at generating chances, below average at finishing them. Hope that clears things up for you.

Parise was in a 2nd line role last season. He averaged over 16 min TOI.

He's still got the moves, so it's a fine contract, could've been league minimum though.

Fun fact, both Parise and Suter have earned more money since Minnesota bought them out.

There have been a few cases of players making more money after a buyout than the original contract.

Parise was owed $10 million dollars, the buyout made him $6.666 and his 2 years with the Isles made him $3 million and now this contract pushes his total past $10 million earned.

Suter was owed $10 million dollars also, the buyout made him $6.666 and his Dal contract makes him $14.6 million more. So Suter actually doubled his earnings !!!
