If you mean from the NHL, he actually isn't, He likely gets a stint at the end of the college season and will be called up permanently next season. If you mean value wise compared to Jiricek, that could be debated as well but I think Hutson + Barron fills that gap nicely, the issue is though I doubt the Jackets need anymore puck moving D men and definitely do not need another RHD. Jiricek fills the role they need more than adding Barron and Hutson.

habs should learn to not move a young dman before he get any chance in the nhl, we cant repeat that again, that alone is reason to not even consider this type of deal, and as mentioned above doesnt make a whole lot of since for columbus either.

This and this. The biggest organizational need over 1C (which Fantilli should eventually fill) is 1RD. Right now, Jiricek is the only guy in the system with that potential. He's not getting moved unless we're getting another RD or C with his ceiling, full stop.

I meant value-wise...Hutson is an interesting prospect, but is a long ways from Jiricek right now.
And I think more than Barron would have to put put forward to bridge the divide.

I feel like you are underestimating Barron's value a bit, he is still a very young and good 2 way D man, the issue with him in Montreal is we have 3 more promising prospects coming in Reinbacher, Mailloux and Konyushkov snd with Savsrd as our vet RHD that makes Barron the odd man out. Barron should return a late 1st/early 2nd and Hutson likely has a 10-15 ova value with his offensive play and his defensive development. He isn't pushed around anymore and is more on par with Harris defensively now. I would still take Jiricek over Hutson but the gap isn't more than another top 4 RHD prospect IMO.
