Kasper is a non starter for Detroit and we all know Carter isn't being traded because of his NMC.

Detroit passes, We're not trading Kasper for a winger who'll be seeking anywhere from 8 x $8,500,000 to 8 x $9,000,000 on his next contract. Detroit has far more pressing needs then paying Jake Guentzel anywhere from $8,500,000 to $9,000,000 per long term.

That Pettersson trade is real bad. MP has been their best D man, his value is much higher.

What could the Kings possibly want with another RHD?

It’s funny you think Carter has any sort of value that isn’t negative at this point.

-I like the idea of Carolina flipping out Tony D for another problem child; I just don't see a home for Jeff Carter in the Hurricanes lineup. Canes pass.

-Honestly feels like too huge of a price - Guentzel is very good but I can't see Stevie Y giving up Kasper for a rental. I could see the Wings potentially giving up their 1st this year plus a prospect a tier down, but not a guy who was a top 8 pick so recently.

-Feel like it's quibbling but Ruhwedel goes for a 6th/7th at best. He's Troy Stecher in different packaging.

-I like Pettersson quite a bit and feel like this is undervaluing him - but I also think the Isles would pass because I just can't figure out a way to keep him on the cap for next season. They've already got $81.4M committed to the cap next year with 6 NHL d already under contract (Pelech/Pulock, Romanov/Dobson, Bolduc/Mayfield). I can't see them dedicating 2/3 of their free cap to a guy who most likely just replaces Bolduc on the 3rd pair. That being said; if the Penguins want to shop him, I think they can get a much better package elsewhere.
