laugh Trade Sergachev for two players you've zero chance in hell of re-signing, Hanifin and Lindholm combined will cost you $16,000,000 Lindholm $8,500,000 and Hanifin $7,500,000 Neither is signing with a team that's on the decline.

Original thought on the trade. Flames would have to think Sergachev is worth his 8.5m contract to do the deal. More likely they get futures for Hanifan and Lindholm and then could spend 8.5m better than Sergachev.

That's not the point. Improves the team this year, and then have 8.5m to spend next season(s) by not having Sergachev.

????? Teams acquire upcoming UFAs at TDL for a playoff run with no intention (or cap) to resigning these players. Just for this season it makes Tampa better. The question is can Tampa replace Sergachev effectively for under 8.5m in future years.

There's noway that Julien Brisebois is giving up Mikhail Sergachev for two rentals, No sane GM is making that trade.

I don’t think they would be rentals and there is a Florida discount.. I put up part2 with the renewal contracts.

That would be the start of this year what part of they don't trade the guy in the first year of the extension are you not smart enough to understand? I realized he signed it before the start of last year however if you think he played awful last year you are the absolute worst talent evaluator EVER!!!!!!

At the time Goodrow's cap hit was 1.13% of the cap, Dowd's is 1.5%, so you're splitting hairs there. They are are about the same offensively (Dowd 0.29 since joining Caps, Goodrow 0.26 when with SJS). Analytically Dowd is slightly better as well, especially defensively. So across the board they are basically the same at the same time they were traded except Goodrow was younger, but Dowd is also a center and better on the PK and played bigger minutes. Dowd is easily getting a late or at the very least a couple 2nds.

Goodrow was also a Center that got moved to wing that TB team was loaded w Centers. Point Cirelli, Stamkos, Johnson, Gourde, Goodrow, Paquette.

Looks like he played both in SJS. Of his top 5 lines he was on he was center on just 2 of them.
