lol this has to be the worst zegras trade I’ve seen 😂
Two ahl players , one of the worst contracts in the league , and a late first NEXT YEAR .
that isn’t even enough to cover dumping Anderson and his contract . Let alone return a young top line player

We already have copies of the two players, and the first doesn't even cover dumping Anderson

1 one of those players is playing great in the NHL already and the other is a prospect that can likely play a similar game to Zegras, 2 Anderson is a cap dump yes but it’s not exactly like Anaheim is cap crunched, 3 Calgary probably won’t make the playoffs next year especially with all their expected free agency walks, 4 Anaheim has a large number of forwards prospects it’s better to get good depth additions plus more and a veteran player while he’s young then to have to ship him off when you have no cap space to resign them all

Struble is unnecessary in light of Fowler, LaCombe, Mintyukov, Zellweger and others behind them, so he adds nothing to a Zegras trade. (He'd be useful to any other team, of course.). Anderson and his contract have negative value.

Any package that doesn't have a potential star in it has to include the Montreal 2024 first, not a 2025 pick. That's why we keep sking for David Reinbacher and Montreal's 2025 second. A draft day deal for Justin Barron and Owen Beck plus the 2024 first would probably be acceptable if it wasn't a top 3 pick.

If mtl is dumping one of the worst contracts in the league AND getting a young top line player it costs their own first and reinbacher or slaf. Not some mid level prospects that ANA already has some comparable players

I wouldnt give a 1st for Zegras even if it meant getting rid of Anderson. Zegras was just voted the most overrated player by other NHL players.

Roy’s ceiling is likely on the 3rd line. Anderson will cost you to move, and not something particularly small. Stuble has zero value to ANA as he’ll never see the ice behind one of if not the best LD pipeline in the NHL. A ’25 first isn’t going to be helpful until likely 2028. This gets you Vatrano, not a 22 year old proven 1st liner coming off back-to-back 60 pt seasons on a fair RFA contract

If you love these assets so much, awesome. You should keep em. Ducks not at all interested

Nobody's ever gonna pay for what Anaheim is asking for Zegras. He would have been traded long ago. Ducks can keep his overrated ass in the Honda Center.

Roy's ceiling is kind of unknown at the moment. For those thinking that he will only be a 3rd liner, you might get some surprises in the future. You should ask to Bedard and McTavish how Roy is good.

0 NHL games played with very similar college and WJC production vs a nearly .8pt/g NHL player at 22. Might he turn out better? Sure. But to even pretend that’s considerably more valuable is laughable

200 feet game say it all ... wink !! Hockey is 90 to 95% of the game without the control of the puck.

You must not do much reading. There’s many articles and discussions about the worst contract and Anderson is always near the top . I’ve provided many links in the past so you can read them if you’d like to learn something.
It’s also absolutely hilarious seeing habs fans trash PLD when most of the habs posters on this site were drooling when he hit the trade market . Making proposals nearly constantly

Yawn. Another fan who clearly hasn’t watched Z play this year for any semi decent sample size. I don’t totally blame you, we’ve been ass and he’s been injured for over half of it. But that comment absolutely shows you’re speaking with some ignorance.

He’s undeniably developing the defensive part of his game under Cronin. Is he going to be a Bergeron? Helllllll no. But he’s a 22 year old kid that’s very clearly improving off the puck. Watch the tape, or hell even just listen to the coach speak about him

And sure, 90-95% of the time you may not have the puck, but you’re absolutely kidding yourself if the defensive part of that percentage is anywhere close to 90-95% of a players impact on the game.
