Give Me A Offer For Mitts

Created by: BUFF36
Team: 2023-24 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2024
Published: Feb. 1, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This isn't to say I want to move him, but you have to think about it. Especially after what Lindholm got and what Monahan could get for Montreal. Mittelstadt has been better than both over the last Year. And Mittelstadt isn't a Pure Rental. Can resign or use as a Asset in the offseason. He's a 5vs5 point muncher, if he got any PP Time he would probably have 60pts this year already. So if interested make me a Fair Offer.

Probably getting a worse prospect if it's a rhd tbh. Example top six potential forward like lucius or a middle to bottom pair rhd jets don't have one but ib terms of the difference

I can already tell you that any of these comments won't have an accurate trade proposal based on value and need for the Sabres.

If BUF trades him they have a better chance imo of getting a package that helps them better in the summer than at the TDL because at the deadline it is going to be future heavy, 1st, solid prospect not top prospect, and a bottom 6/pairing guy, depending on the quality of the players might get or have to give a mid round pick or lower prospect.

It ain't. Sabres don't need futures or prospects that we basically hope turn into what mitts already is. It's either a similar value shutdown rhd or long term extension.

Like I said I don't want to move him, Lucius is a solid Center prospect who's not far off. And the Sabres can't give everyone Extensions. And this doesn't mean you can't turn Winnipeg's 1st into another needed asset for the team know.

We simply cannot trade him for futures. It has to be a hockey trade

I agree, just saying that first offer is solid. I don't want to trade him, but you have to listen. I will add though, if that future is sometime next year, then yes I would think about it.

I would have taken this.
Andrei Kuzmenko · $5,500,000
Joni Jurmo · $0 (AHL/JR) (Signing Rights)
Hunter Brzustewicz · $0 (AHL/JR) (Signing Rights)
2024 1st round pick (VAN)
2024 4th round pick (VAN) [Conditional
With a different coach (a players coach aka Granoto) Kuzmenko should return to the scoring machine he was last year.
We replace Casey with Andrie this year (I know a wing for center is not the same), use the first and other assets to pry a RHD from a team looking for futures.
Helps now and in the future.
Colorado traded Newhook for 31st and 37th OA then traded the 37th to get Colton.
Buffalo could have done something similar.
Casey should have had more value than Lindholm.

Not worth risking Casey's production on futures and the possibility that Kuzmenko's good year wasn't a fluke. It just wouldn't make sense for the Sabres.

Jurmo is a interesting prospect, big boy who can skate.

Yeah I don’t see any teams being able do a hockey trade in season seems like an offseason move to me

And teams willing to trade for mittelstadt aren’t giving that up in season. I don’t see any trade working out in season for mitts unless the Sabres just used the gathered futures for mittelstadt to go add a RHD. Mitts is in a weird situation. Can’t pay a 3C 7mil when you have young guys to replace him but don’t want to move him for futures

Edit: or the gm feels differently about futures

All trades invovle risk.
Look how coaching affected Skinner!
With this Buffalo has three chances of at least braking even.
Kuzmenko could (should) return to being a scoring machine.

The first (may have to add assets) should get a good RHD.
Vancouver traded Horvat and used the assets to get hronek.
Buffalo could do the same.

Hunter Brzustewicz could turn into a top 4 RHD.

Unlikely that not one of the 3 would be a winner.
Actually it is more likely all three would produce positive results.
If this package was offered to Adams and he turned it down, he should be replaced immediately.

Maybe it's a Offseason thing if they Decide to move on. Guy only has 5 pts of his 42 on the PP this year. If Mitts got steady PP time he would probably be at 55-60pts this year already. Gonna be interesting to see what the Sabres decide on.
