Seeing Gibson here should be enough to say that you need revision on this list

Jack Hughes is by far the weakest center physically on that list. I rank based on who I would want on my team in a 7 game series and Hughes' lack of defensive game and physical weakness moves him down compared to others.

I'd switch Draisaitl and Point and also Hughes and Eichel

Also neither Stamkos or Sergachev is that good

LW is the weakest skater position in my mind. I had Stamkos high as possibly the best complimentary scoring winger in the league. I do think Sergachev is that good and I give him a lot of credit for improving his defensive play over the years. Watching him live it was frustrating because he was double shifted (no Hedman that game) and didn't make a mistake.

Possibly. I think that Boston having two elite goalies stats wise is an indication that they play a strong team game rather than have two elite goalies. He could be better than the bottom guys on the list though.

You then have Quinn Hughes at number 1 at a position where physicality is more important and Quinn ranks much worse relative to his peers in that aspect.

C'mon, injury history/potential isn't the only factor on this list. Kucherov and Eichel have things like Cups going for them while Stone and Werenski are simply in positions that aren't nearly as deep as center.

Ahh so you pick and choose what matters when it's convenient.

Jack Hughes does not have things like Cups or Conn Smythe caliber Playoff runs to offset his injury history or lack of defensive play. Every center on the list is stronger than him. Every center on the list is better defensively than him (except Draisaitl and MacKinnon possibly). Every center on the list has a better Playoff resume than him (except Matthews).

Hughes is also the youngest center on the list and has the most room to grow.

If I had to win a 7 game series tomorrow to save my life, I'd take all of those centers before Hughes.

Jack Hughes is 22 years old drafted to a tanking team. Shocking that he doesn't have an extensive playoff resume.

Jack Hughes is good defensively. Nobody on this outside of Barkov is good enough defensively for it to be a meaningful gap.

If I had to rank them at this point defensively:

Barkov
GAP
McDavid
Eichel
Matthews
Pettersson
Hughes
GAP
Mackinnon
Crosby
Point
Draisaitl

With everyone in their own tier being basically interchangable

I disagree on those defensive rankings.

Like I said, Hughes is the youngest center on the list by a decent amount. I have no doubt he'll be better in 5+ years when he'll be around the ages of most of the guys here.

You’d think a Canucks fans who’s heard people talk down and underestimate Quinn’s defensive abilities for years simply because of his size wouldn’t fall into the same trap with Jack.

You did. Quite literally earlier you said you had him lower bc of size.

It’s also where the narrative comes from. Doesn’t throw hits and is small so therefore he MUST be bad defensively

The lack of size contributes to Hughes' lack of physical play, not his necessarily defensive game. I don't think Hughes' utilizes his unique skillset consistently on defense. But again, he's 22 and the youngest player here. I'm confident it'll be different once he's 27.

Dude, he has him as a top 10 centre. I'd probably take Hughes over Point and maybe above Petterson as well. He's a young guy, he has time to grow, Bedard isn't on the list either.

I mean, Quinn Hughes was one of the worst defensive defensemen the league has ever seen for the majority of his career. I don't really buy that he's figured it out this time, I just think his team has the puck the whole time.

Bedard also isn’t top 5 in the league in points per game
