And how exactly is Perbix worth a 2nd rounder?

We'll give you the Pittsburgh third for Perbix.

I probably wouldn’t even do that

He's worth in the late 2nd/early 3rd range. Good contract for another year after this one, overall good numbers, and despite a rough stretch this year mostly due to learning a new system, he's been solid as a 3RD and can play 2nd pairing if needed. Tampa may or may not even be looking to move him, but if they are targeting an upgrade like Walker, Fabbro, etc, then he's likely the one they'd look to move. Tampa won't be giving him away, so if Anaheim doesn't want to pay in that range, great, someone else will.

Tampa probabaly accepts that after some back and forth, or if they are interested in Lyubushkin instead of paying more for someone like Walker or Fabbro, maybe Perbix for Lyubushkin as a base could be an option.

He's a bottom pairing defenseman, and not a particularly good one at that. And what do you mean learning a new system, he played almost all of last season with the big club. If he's still learning the system I have serious concerns about his overall IQ level.

I guess you don't follow Tampa much, as they instituted(probabaly mistakenly) a new defensive scheme this year. Most of their dmen struggled with it the first 25-30 games, but they are slowly starting to improve. Perbix is more than fine as a 3rd pairing RD and at 1.1, has a solid contract for another year. Tampa would definitely shoot for a 2nd for him, but they'd probabaly settle for a 3rd. They won't give him sway for some late round pick or nothing player.

Perbix worth a 2nd but Duclair retained worth only a 3 and a 6. makes perfect sense

He might be worth that type of draft capital to a team hard up against the cap because of the contract. The Ducks are not that team. With their cap space they can pay a lower pick for a less efficient contract. Exactly like they did getting Lyubushkin for a 4th.
