Considering Guentzel’s age, Canes pass. I do think Necas gets moved in the off season, but it would be for a 2C with term or a RW upgrade. Canes already have more than enough LW.

If we are to sell this is pretty good, but anyone who thinks we should sell should need to look Sidney Crosby in the eyes and tell him **** you because that is basically what they're doing

Jackets had an opportunity to sign graves and didn’t. Don’t see why the would want him now that he’s a cap dump and be adding a third

Guentzel's too old for the Canes to consider giving him that much money for that long, especially at the cost of Necas.

Why would Guentzel accept a contract for less money than he has previously been offered and turned down?

Why would Guentzel want to go to Carolina? Since winning the Cup in 2006, they have had a terrible playoff record, going 9-6 in series and going 0-12 in their three times in the conference finals.

Are they trending better than Pittsburgh? Absolutely!! And the playoffs is a crap-shoot. But, there are many teams he would be more interested in than Carolina.

There was no contract offered so he didn’t reject it.

I saw this article:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/amp/jake_guentzel_rejects_massive_extension_offer_from_penguins/s1_16454_39915024

Then (after your reply), I saw this one:
https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/pittsburgh-penguins/latest-news/jake-guentzel-deal-pittsburgh-penguins-holding-back-offer

So, you could be correct. Things like this have a way of all being half true.

Guentzel commented on it today I believe, saying he’s more focused of hockey, but that no contract was offered.

Listen, I've had many great conversations with his highness the Prince of Nigeria. He tells me everything I read is true, and he's a prince. So....
