I don't think he's unplayable. I think there are a lot of factors going into his tougher season. His father just passed. His wife has MS. He's been forced to play top pairing minutes when he's better suited for 2nd pairing minutes & he's been paired with Rielly, who has been very good, but at times will let his defensive coverage lapse in order to maximize offence. A mid to late 2nd is pretty good price for a guy with a good track record.

There is no way you're getting Dowd for that return...2nd rounder to start the conversation. He's too valuable, costs little and works hard.

If Brodie was worth a 2cd the Leafs would be keeping him. At 50% retained maybe he could find a team willing to pay that but I doubt it...he has not been a good playoff guy hence low or no demand now.

I would say every team would outbid that offer for Larsson, he is a top pairing guy on a great contract.

Tanev deal seems fair but I think he goes to a team with a better shot...I think Calgary may get a slightly better offer tho.

I think the offer for Dowd is not bad, I like McMann and maybe if used properly he could do better...but I think Leafs get outbid.

Overall idea is fine though and I think it improves the Leafs now and next year...they need one more 4th liner tho to replace Robertson...I doubt he plays in the playoffs if the Leafs make it

The track record doesn't mean much when he hasn't been good overall. It also seems like a terrible time to trade for him with his wife having MS, he shouldn't be away from her any more than now. When a team is looking to acquire someone it should be who they are today, not a raw average of being good in the past.

Seattle has no motivation to trade Larsson at this time so they pass.
