Adam Henrique because he is the best at offense. Col can put him at 2nd or 3rd center. Johansen can move down to 4 center because he is great at face offs and not so well at playmaking.

Aside from Henrique 2 of those guys are signed beyond this season, and their analytics are pretty solid

and yet no better than Eller.

I do realize that the market seems to think otherwise though, so we’ll see. Rico is probably the closest to be able take the 2C. Laughton and Dowd are no 2C’s. Would’t mind them as 4C’s (except Laughtons 3M cap hit).

How about Frost as 2C AND Laughton as 4C (50% retained)? That would be something.

To be fair, Anaheim would retain 50% ($2,912,500) on Rico so his cap hit would be the same as Laughton's, and you'd get a 2024 third back in the deal. But I think that Laughton makes the most sense because he's got two seasons left on his deal.

The biggest problem is that none of them are 2C's so they don't do much for the Avs. Rico wouldn't be a bad get but I'm not sure how much he moves the needle. Taking a chance on Frost would probably more worth it since he has the extra year and would be better than Joey but Frost being available isn't clear. He's young and affordable so he fits in the Philly timeline. I'm sure they'd love to shed Laughton's deal but he is definitely not a 2C so it would be foolish to trade for him.

Flyers are not going to retain 3 years and add Frost just for a #1 pick.
