Mesar and Newhook aren't really centers. I'd do Mesar, but Newhook is too intriguing to give up on that early in the project.

Coronato hasn’t said he wants out or anything, Centre is just a need and he’s a Valuable Trade Piece to offer up

Our best bet is to finish low enough to draft Catton.

Hate to tell you this, because I wish it weren't the case, but neither Newhook, not Mesar, are Centers. Mesar plays RW in Kitchener. Newhook IS playing Center out of desperation, but his only success this year has come on the wing.

Sorry the Habs are drafting Catton, you guys can have Connelly.

I'm not a fan of a lot of those options. Especially Lundell and Newhook.

If a guy like Sillinger(picked 1 spot before Coronato) was available then sure. Or maybe someone like Conor Geekie, or Brayden Yager.

Sillinger can’t skate and sucks compared to Lundell & Newhook (who would come with a very good contract already in place)

I have Yager there, but left guys like Zegras, Stankoven, Rossi, Savoie, Geekie & Danielson out because they would likely be untouchable, cost too much to acquire over and above Coronato or weren’t the right size/fit. Was also looking for more of a shot first Centre for Huberdeau as well and obviously left out all any Americans too

If you want a shot first F just sign Monahan as a UFA. I'd take Sillinger over Lundell, but that's me. Lundell has been struggling with defense, and being a 3rd line C.

Keep your eye on Lundell. He’s Good at Faceoffs and Responsible Defensively. He’s more of a 200ft complete player. He’s Young and will take it to another level yet and should become something between what Backlund & Lindholm became for us in my eyes. Plus he’s more likely to be made available than most of these other guys

I think the issue here is not so much Americans don't want to live in Canada; it's most players don't want to play for Canadian teams because of the taxes.

Obviously player cards don't tell the entire story, but analytics haven't been kind to Lundell this season. Which matches my eye test.

It will be fun to see which player takes a step first - Lundell or Sillinger.

Sounds like a huge overreaction. As the other poster said we desperately need RHS caliber players in the top 6. Plus Coronato already signed, he will be in Canada for a while.

Weegar already replaced Tanev. He's nearly just as good defensively and way better offensively.

Weegar replaced Hanifin actually and we just got a Top-6 RHS in Kuzmenko. With Mangiapane, Coleman & Pospisil there’s no room for Coronato ant RW and Duehr & Klapka are probably just as good or effective. I’m not that high on Coronato if you couldn’t already tell.
