They trade a bottom pair defenceman for a top six forward. Canucks improve their top 9, Leafs get more physical. The trade is a win for both teams.

The Canucks have 8 forwards that have more points than Bertuzzi this year. Blueger also has the same amount in 10 less games, and Suter only has 2 less in 10 less games. That’s despite Bertuzzi playing with Tavares and Nylander most of the year. The 2nd is going the wrong way

Canucks decline. Bertuzzi's hasn't been good this year and isn't an upgrade on anyone currently in our top 9. We also aren't giving up Zadorov so soon after acquiring him.

No, it isn't. The Canucks weaken their defense and their future to pick up an underperforming winger? Not happening.
Toronto would have to add to make the Canucks even begin to consider this. If they want Zadorov then they will have to PAY for him.

Rutherford and Tocchet know talent. That's why Canucks are where they are. They know Bertuzzi is better than all the guys you just listed. He is an upgrade on them, this year, last year, next year, it doesn't matter.

Is this the top six forward that would be 11th in scoring on the Canucks and who also has one more point than Sam Lafferty who your very team traded for a measly 5th? That top-six forward?
canucksfan43 and theleano1 liked this.

If Lafferty is a 4th liner on the Leafs and a top 9 forward on the Canucks then Bertuzzi will be the 1st line LW on Vancouver. Tocchet is that good of a coach imo.

Bertuzzi isnt a top 6 forward on the Canucks rn, might not even be top 9 with how good Garland Bleuger and Joshua are together. Easy decline for VAN, Zadorov isnt getting moved
