Honestly, I don't see how the Seattle trade makes sense for either side. Seattle's in more of a contending phase, so having Bjorkstrand, a proven top six winger, is more valuable to them than a late first and a winger prospect whose ceiling is probably what Bjorkstrand is right now. There's no guarantee Gushchin reaches that level anyway, and even if he does it won't be until years down the road. San Jose on the other hand is in a deep rebuild, so they should be hoarding prospects and draft picks, not trading them away for someone whose contract will likely expire before the Sharks are ready to return to contention at the NHL level.
