And that's the one Flames defenseman whom Calgary won't be trading this season.

If CGY is trading Hanifin & Tanev,
it’s hard to imagine they’d move Andersson as well

Andersson is an older Lili.

There is analytically a serious argument he is much worse than Lili.

He's also pretty much all offense and no defense.

In so many ways a horrible pickup you just gave away our entire future for.

More fake tough guys for the Leaf’s. Deal makes a lot of sense actually. And value actually seems about right.

Liljegren will never be remotely as good as Andersson. There is no visual or analytical argument for Lily being even as good as him let alone better. Also that offer would not get you Andersson as it's rather weak.

Feel like sharing those analytics or just throwing stuff out there. Would love to see your comparison and how you factor a 7th dmans minutes to a top pairing guy

Ok that's way beyond merely delusional. It's one of the most absurdly stupid things ever said here.

You can also see a more recent one for Lili here: https://images.app.goo.gl/Pe5xoE17q1VSf7V87

In that one he has higher competition (2nd line) and better results.

It's really isn't they were talking about it on TSN and they all picked Hanifin over Andersson and Lili over Andersson. It's the only reason I know the stats cause I looked into it and the analytics backs it up.

The only defensive stat that Andersson has going for him is blocks, he's actually horrible defensively by every other measurable metric.

Look above. Also 4 years ago Flames media was talking about Andersson the same way Leafs media does today. They are very similar in many ways.

So his competition jumped yet remains 30 points below Andersson…. Not the point you think it is really. Andersson has played significantly more against significantly tougher competition. Liljegren fights for ice time with a 40 year old, Timmins and Simon Benoit. Not really the company to keep if you’re arguing how good a player is. Wasnt Keefe just blasting him in the media too? He can slide into the top 4 but seems to blow it every time

Oh good we get to work on how to read graphs today!

Andersson TOI: Top Pair
Liljegren TOI: 3rd pair

Andersson Quality of Competition: 83%
Liljegren Quality of Competition: 34%

Being good in a limited role mainly against bad players does not make you better than a player who does the exact same thing but constantly against every opponents best players

And the declining 40 year old is still probably their best defenseman that actually defends. Former Flame that guy too, go figure...
