I suspect Arizona would prefer to stick with the center.

The Montreal trade really feels like its not worth the effort for Montreal. An extra retention spot and moving two gritty RD (including a veteran leader) doesn't make much sense to move up a couple of picks and two guys that don't address a need. Going from a late 2nd to a late 1st is good, but Montreal's probably better of getting a 3rd to 5th for retaining on a rental as a 3rd party.

The players going back to Montreal have no value to them.
If you need to send contracts back, pick any 2.
You might get Savard and Kovacevic for the 1st and 3rd, but you won't get a 2nd back and I doubt they send two non-rental defensemen to a division rival.

Easily prefer the heavy center with enough skill to play up in the lineup in a pinch than the more talented lightweight, always-injured winger who can't carve out a spot on his team even though they need cheap depth and is about to be waiver-eligable.
