I honestly don't know the team well enough so I went with picks. I see Saros attracting a combo of picks and players but wasn't sure what to add. As he's in the final season of his contract, I don't see Nashville getting a haul for him. A first rounder and roster player/good prospect seems like a good return. Especially with Askarov set to challenge for more games in 2024-25.

Same. I really think Dallas is an ideal landing spot for Chych and in terms of maximizing the Sens' return.

He has the rest of this season and next, so one more full season but two playoff runs.

I think Trotz is going to be looking for a deal to blow him away in order to trade him. A 1st and prospect probably doesn’t do it— although that depends on the prospect, I suppose. They would be looking for top 4 RHD or top 6 center prospects in any deal.

ya, no chance OTT trades chych for picks and prospects that don't help with their current RD problem.

OTT would not be interested in any of the 2 prospects.

just the boston 1st should be enough for saros, with the condition that if its below 25th OA, NSH receives ott 2024 2nd and a 3rd

From my limited interactions on ACGM, I must say Carolina has one of the most sensitive fan bases. This trade is admittedly an incredibly bland one for the Canes, and one that comes with a footnote to trade Kubalik to any contender looking for depth. Yet it still invoked a level of disdain from the fan base. It’s quite fascinating to observe.

If and when Ottawa is back in its contending years, this is the exact type of trade I’d hope our GM would pursue. A zero risk trade for a throw away pick, in exchange for a serviceable and experienced forward who’s also shown he can score in the league.

Anyway, best of luck with the playoffs. I like the Canes and hope they do well.

Not sensitive, just being honest. Canes roster doesn’t have space for a forward who is offense only. They already have a roster of 23, and cap space to go big game hunting. Why waste this cap and roster space on someone who would play less than 10 mins a game.

I guess I’ll ask, but on the assumption that Kubalik is even able to break into the Canes roster, where does he play, in all likelihood, for less than 10 minutes a night? I’m not disputing value or anything, but with how overloaded the Canes wings are already, there are only 2 players that a winger being acquired would have a chance of kicking off the roster: Noesen and Fast. In Noesen’s case, he is the Canes net front guy on PP2, and occasionally on PP1 when a switch up has to occur. If a better net front guy who also has a more offensive touch is coming back, Canes might sit Noesen in favor of that acquisition, assuming the work ethic can be matched. As for Fast, he is to the Canes kind of what Joseph is to the Sens, that defensive forward who has their niche role and does it exceptionally well.

Adding in that the Canes already have a full roster as is, someone will have to either be moved or be waived. If the Canes are just acquiring a 13th forward just for the sake of the acquisition, you might as well just keep Lemieux at that point. I personally wouldn’t mind acquiring Kubalik, as I imagine many Canes fans probably feel the same way. But the problem is more it doesn’t make enough sense to really do, considering other roster ramifications.

Chychrun is the only semi-realistic player that I would be willing to move Bourque for at the deadline. I'm extremely high on Bourque and what he could be, especially with Stankoven, but Chychrun fixes our defense problem for a LONG time & with his ability to play both left & right side (like Heiskanen), Dallas could have an absurd top-4 of:

Harley-Heiskanen
Bichsel-Chychrun

for the next 5+ years
