They can't get Pettersson in a trade since they just don't have have the assets. Their only chance is if he somehow becomes a free agent in 2025.

LMAO def is not, a mid-to-late first, holtz who is basically kuzmenko 2.0 and poitras who might pan out to be a good middle-six centre. that would get outbid by so many teams

a package for petersson would either have to be centred around a top-5 first rounder/a-tier prospect, or one or two borderline elite players depending on which direction the canucks wanna go. look at what tkachuk cost, in hindsight it didn't work out for calgary but at the time they got back a first PLUS a top-pairing defenseman and a 115pts forward with extensions in place. ur offer would be a joke

You just contradicted yourself. Plus huberdeau is 30YO. Weegar is not a stud dman by any means. A prospect and a 1st. This offer is two young cost controlled centers, one of which should be a 1-2 line guy, maybe even both. Plus a first and prospect. But ok.

Good goalies don’t grow on trees my man. Maybe you’re right. But that team with a real G could be dangerous.

Surely you can't get a goalie like Ullmark by just waiting until UFA. Wait, my sources are telling me that's exactly how ullmark was acquired by boston in the first place

doesn't matter how old they are, calgary still wanted to compete when that trade was made and the canucks likely would too if petersson goes. you can revision it all you want but huberdeau was coming off a 115pts season and no one was expecting a drop-off so quick. your valuation of weegar is also way off anyone around the league can tell you he's a true top-pairing defenseman and has basically been the only great part of that trade for calgary so far.

poitras and holtz are nowhere near the level of prospect vancouver would get for petersson, not even the same stratosphere and a first rounder that's likely between 20-32 is not even close to the value you think it is. not to mention boston would probably be one of the last teams vancouver would wanna give petersson to. eyeballing the roster - marchand, carlo and a first is probably the only package vancouver would even consider from boston (excluding mcavoy and pastrnak obvs) and even then i doubt they'd take it, boston don't have the assets for him. if he hits free agency in 25 then its a different story

It's not that it's a terrible offer but if he went up for bid you just couldn't compete with other offers. Just don't have the right pieces.

Like the idea, but Nucks are not doing that. Carlo would likely have to swapped in for one of the lesser pieces for them to even begin to consider it. Even thrn it[s pretty iffy.

Pipe dream. Just don’t have the assets.

Not Carlo. McAvoy and Swayman to send elsewhere. NMC’s kill it

Neither of them came with extensions I place, both were negotiated after the trade. Tkachuk has the extension in place at time of trade.
