That offer for Tanev is particularly ridiculous. He won’t cost that much, even with retention.

Make it the 2025 1st and sure on Hanifin if that’s what wins the bidding war, put it to 1.75 mill retentuon and sure on Markstrom.

Ofc NJD may not be buying at all

These feel very "best case scenario" for Calgary

Would love both NJ deals for Calgary
Seems real steep for Dallas for a UFA

These both favour Calgary, Borque doesn't come over in anything other than a Hanifin deal, I think you're close with New Jersey but that pick in the Hanifin deal would likely need serious conditions and protections for New Jersey to consider moving it.

I think with how complicated the 2024 1st would get with conditions I'd say just make it the 2025 1st and be done with it

The Flames are riddled with complicated conditions on picks right now, I would do anything for just a straight up pick.

What you don't want 2024 pick (if top 15 NJD sends 2025 pick (top 10 protected), if 16-20 NJD can choose which pick between 2024 and 25, if 29-32 NJD sends 2025 due to Meier conditions unprotected) and more random obscure conditions?

Tanev -- Dellandrea, 2nd (someone may pay a 1st)

Hanifin = Bahl, 1st (without retention, top-10 protected pick...if we believe there is good chance Hanifin extends)

Markstrom = Holtz (already agreed to by both sides)

$1.5 million for 2.2 years = 3rd, 5th

If we knew Hanifin extends...I think minimal protection could potential work.

Or maybe even unprotected with a pick coming back if it ends up top-5, top-10, whatever

Take Bourque out entirely and it's fair value, even with retention.

Have you looked at the Monahan pick?? I still don't understand it half the time. Treliving was trying to be the smartest guy in the room with conditions while sending a1st round pick with a guy who just got was traded for a 1st round pick.

It seems so ****ed lmao. Seems like my understanding is it’s probably gonna be the Florida pick tho right?

I think it will be Calgary's pick next year unfortunately. I think that if Calgary is in the top 10 of the draft next season it will be the Florida pick, if they're between 11-32 it's the better of the 2 picks. Worst case scenario is Calgary finishing with the 11th overall pick. That could be wildly wrong though.
