Yeah it would take a massive deal to pry him from OTT and that’s for any team but as you’ve stated here, they are rivals it would take just a tad more.

Will a trade for Tkachuk happen ? probably not, like you said he is their captain and there is a big rivalry between the 2 teams, but words around is that he might be on the market for a good price. Is the price enough ? IF ghule and Newhook hit their ceilling Montreal loses this trade, but Tkachuk is exactly what this top 6 needs, and Ottawa has their bonafire top 4 D and a 50-60p speedy winger in a young Newhook for their core. Again, if they hit their ceilling ghule can be a reallly good top 4 player and Newhook a good top 6 50-60p.

OTT would decline. Guhle is a stud, but our LD is stacked with studs in Sanderson, Chabot, and Chychrun (not to mention Brannstrom, Kleven). It would be akin to making an offer for Caulfield or Suzuki with a goalie being the main piece. Just doesn't fit a need for MTL, which inherently tanks the perceived value of the trade.

Ghule plays as well on the right side, but ya. Ideally they would move Chychrun to Detroit for a RD like Edvinsson and put Ghule on the right with Sanderson

Chychrun and Brannstrom also play on the right at times, but they need a bona-fide RHD to place with their two-way transitional LHD. OTT needs to focus on the real need rather than a 'could fit' mentality, y'know? A reason why they're struggling again this year.

Of course, if they move Chychrun this could change the conversation, but Sanderson and Chabot have the left locked down.

I also don't watch much MTL games, but that's just my general thoughts on the pieces in the trade.

If Montreal wants Brady they can build a time machine and draft him when they had the chance. This deal doesn't get close, and he's not available to begin with.

Probably something like Reinbacher and mtls unprotected first. Even that seems a little light since brady already established himself as a 60-90 point player whereas pieces from MTL would be just projected pieces with potential
