I would think thats a pretty easy pass for the sens. Giroux should push a Buchnevich-level return if he asks for a move imo

I figured the return on Giroux was a bit light. I never hear his name in trade talk, so no idea what kind of a return OTT would consider.

Not that NSH should be buyers anyway, so it's all academic.

Fairly certain Giroux hand picked Ottawa himself, I don't think he's going to accept a trade to anywhere honestly.

We don’t hear rumours cuz he pretty much came home to retire here with young children

I know it's a Fantasyland trade for multiple reasons. If Trotz inadvisably wanted to strengthen the roster for a playoff run, he'd be a really good fit though. I was mostly curious to hear from OTT fans what they think a fair price would be, IF Giroux was available.

Hard to say because the NMC would be a major handcuff especially if he hand-picks a spot to go. If he were to ask out you also kind of owe it to him at this stage to grant him that wish too, so it can get a bit trickier. With that said, hes still so good that I think he would/should get a good return, maybe something like Evangelista/Tomasino + 1st and like another salary filler and some extras from the preds? Probably not the ideal return if youre the sens tbh, but if I had to settle given the circumstances it could be worse

I think a 1st and Tomasino would be fair, if OTT retained a bit on Giroux - say 25% or so. I'd be willing to go higher on Giroux, if he were a couple years younger. At 36, there's a not insignificant chance he falls off a cliff next season.

Again thats if he hand-picks Nashville, if he opens up his NMC then it could open up the return. He could fall off for sure, but as it stands he is our best player pretty much every game and was last season as well

You are on the right track BUT I not think ww would trade with Dallas or them w us as we cold be facing them in the playoffs. Look to another division. And we are not going to give away a 1st unless we are contenders. We are not. This is just going to be a little post season experience for the kids and a extra 2 weeks of frustration for fans. Move Barrie for a pic. thats it.

You're probably right, about trading with DAL. I've just always liked Hakanpää's game, come playoff time. Plus he always seems to have big moments, whenever he plays against NSH.

I agree NSH shouldn't be buyers. This was more just to fantasize about what improvements they could make, without selling the farm.

Barrie definitely gets moved, if there's a buyer for him. I wouldn't rule out Novak too though, if contract negotiations aren't going well.
