DOnt think Stephenson will come as cheap as all that, and that defense looks no better.

Lots of long term deals and not much to pay the RFAs like Kulich, Johnson JJP

Not really improved the team, other than almost capped out.

Not sure if its really fixed what isnt working

Points taken.

That said, am of the opinion that the top-six is deadly, the third line has plenty of room for surprises and the fourth line should suffice in a limited role.

As to the cap, I believe it's projected to be close to $88M, leaving room to sign a solid UFA RHD to solidify the corps which, admittedly, needs an upgrade.

Mainly this was an exercise to see what the responses would be to the trade proposal (my guess is OTT fans say not enough, Sabres fans say too much) and to see what a trade like that would do to next season's cap hit.

I really like Mittlestadt, but him as the centerpiece for a Tkachuk trade is just not gonna work.

I love Jack Quinn! From the area and super high upside. I guess he really is the biggest value in the trade - just hard to trade your captain, a high-end winger, and not get a more high-end current player in return. If you made it the 2024 pick you're a bit closer, but I still think we'd only move Tkachuk as part of a deal for another proven high-end player

I don't think there's any chance Chandler Stephenson accepts a 3 year deal at $4M per from anyone, let alone the Sabres.

His projected next deal is 5 years at $5.7M per.

He has a big fan club league wide.

Point taken. Even at $5.7M (or even $6M), I'd take him to help change the culture in Buffalo.

Agreed, think he'd be a very good add. I am on the Yakov Trenin train myself, think he would also bring some much needed attributes to the Sabres.
