Pens don't want quantity, they want quality.
For Guentzel at 50%: Hoglander + 1st + Lekkerimaki + 2nd

Mikheyev has negative value and three B- prospects aren't interesting

First trade yes, the second trade declined.
No way Canucks are trading Bains and Dubas isn't interested in Mikheyev.

Absolutely no chance you’re getting Lekkerimaki + Hoglander + a 1st + a 2nd for a rental. Mikheyev probably needs to go back for salary reasons unless there’s double retention

1st + 2nd + Raty/Podkolzin is probably the most the Canucks would offer

Hoglander, Lekkerimaki, 1st, 2nd is way too much for Guentzel. Nucks aren’t going to make another big splash anyways.

Ottawa wouldn't accept a trade like that. Bare minimum would be a 2nd rounder and only if Ottawa doesn't retain any money. They are hoping for a 1st and solid prospect if a team wants him for 50%

No? Guentzel might be the best player to be traded at the deadline in the last 20 years. That isn't cheap. Also Van might not be good next year, as this could be a lightning in a bottle season. I think an A+ prospect, a 1st, and a good NHL forward is worth an elite player.

That I believe. Though Jimmy R is probably champing at the bit.

If he had term maybe, but as a pending UFA he’s not gonna get this much. That’s the Eichel return. Eichel was a 1C with term (albeit he did need major neck surgery and wanted out). Despite that he’s more valuable than a pending UFA 1st line winger would be

Guentzel
Xgoals per 60: 1.67
Goals per 60: 1.26
Points per 60: 2.99
Corsi: 62%
Xgoals against per 60: 2.99
Shooting Talent Above Average: 15.7%

Eichel in 2019
Xgoals per 60: 0.91
Goals per 60: 1.44
Points per 60: 3.15
Corsi: 58%
Xgoals against per 60: 2.95
Shooting Talent Above Average: 6.7%

So prime Eichel looks a lot like Guentzel and Jake hasn't had major neck surgery AND demanded a trade.

It's a lot for a rental but he IS a top 5 winger in the NHL...

Eichel also played on a much worse team and didn’t get to play on a line with a top 5-10 player of all time. When you add in the term and positional value, he’s definitely more valuable than Guentzel imo

And while Guentzel is great I wouldn’t say he’s a top 5 winger in the whole league. Top 5 LW maybe, but Kucherov, Pastrnak, Rantanen, M Tkachuk, Marner, Kaprizov, and Panarin I’m definitely taking over him. Arguably Robertson, Marchand, Reinhart, Nylander, Stone, Connor, and B Tkachuk as well

I would argue that experimental neck surgery is more of a risk WITH term.

As far as who's better, I think you could have an argument of those guys and which are better than the others. But I would argue that none are clearly better than the others.

But I think we're falling into opinion (which is partially my fault with my earlier statement)
