Why? Bruins get a very good LD on a team friendly deal for 2 more years. Yes assuming they trade Grzy and Forbort but I would accept

He’s not good. He’s an overpaid 3rd pair guy on a good team. You’re just wasting a first when there is no shortage of left shot D man in free agency.

Why wouldnt the Rangers trade Chytil? His career is likely over.

Because he will play again or his contract will stay on LTIR until it ends

Makes sense. But the Rangers still have to replace Chytil for their 2024 cup run. Would you rather trade a 2nd to replace him or roll the dice and trade Chytil for his replacement? I'm assuming you don't want to wait until the offseason to sign a FA replacement. Or wait for Perreault.

Whats the point of it sitting on LTIR if someone wants to take a chance on him and wait a year or two or maybe he doesnt play at all? We have, right now, what looks like a 2-3 year window. It could take Chytil those 2-3 years to recoup from the concussion stuff. If someone wants him are we not to trade him?

Perreault is ABSOLUTELY not getting traded, thats something I can tell you with 140% certainty.

I mean i wouldn’t want either of sturm or granlund being the 3C unless Granlund was 50% retained

Drury has been looking at 3C’s probably and doesn’t want to pay a 1st for guys he doesn’t think is worth it

Perreault won’t be nhl ready for another 2 years

Can't blame a Shark for trying. Thought maybe the crazy overpay above would do it.

Because chytil is good so if he can play they’ll be stacked down the middle. If he’s done for his career, his contract will probably be moved for FC

No team is gonna trade assets for him

The way he's playing this year, Granlund would be a great 3C for the Rangers. Nearly a point a game. Plays PK and PP. He's probably worth a 2nd. A 1st if 50% retained. You've convinced me that swapping Granlund for Chytil would be irresponsible for the Sharks. A gamble that would either pay off big or be a total waste of Granlund's current value. Tbh Granlund is probably more valuable to the Sharks than any other team at this point as he's a good mentor for our young players and filling in admirably for our injured top line centers.

I think the whole point people are trying to make is the Rangers won't give up draft picks to move Chytil. You want him, offer a trade that doesn't force us to give up picks for you to take his contract.

Same thing for Goodrow, if the Rangers wanted to dump him and give up a second to someone just to get him off the roster they would have done it already. It makes much more sense for the Rangers to buy him outHe would have a negative cap hit in the first year and only have one year in the following five that would cost them more than a 1.1 mil cap hit.

As far as Perreault, Drury has already said hes not being moved.

The 2nd was for the Goodrow cap dump.
So setting the 2nd, Sturm, and Goodrow aside:

Would you trade Chytil for Granlund straight up?

I wouldn't. But thats just personal preference. I'm not a fan of Granlund.
