The cap next year will be 87.5mil, then 92mil the year after. Check CapFriendly future roster stats for confirmation. You should redo this since that invalidates the whole thing

I feel like the answer would be probably not from Chicago.

This is a 2025-26 ACGM. So 1 year of Mik for a 2nd round pick.

Still, Chicago will pass on this trade.

Why? I'd take a 2nd round pick to take his contract.

A late 2nd doesn’t feel right for that salary relief. If you use the puck pedia tool it says a first round pick ~21 would get it done.

Also, as a player I don’t feel like Mikheyev would do well in Chicago. He’s a good complementary piece, but in Chicago his ceiling might be Tyler Johnson 2.0 considering our lack of depth.

Sure. I guess it depends when this trade takes place. This ACGM is for 25-26 and the pick is for the 2025 draft. So, if it is just one year or at next years deadline and we are still in a position to take on a cap dump by then, I don't see why not.

I disagree.
Chicago's young players are better than him TBH.

Maybe their ceiling is higher, but none of them are a sure thing to be ready to play for the 25-26 season, AA and Donato will be gone, and we would be receiving a 2nd round pick to take him. Even if we are just buying him out like Bailey, it's a good pick for taking the contract.
