Don’t like that Minny trade at all.

Could live with NJ trade.

LA would be a possibility as well with their new found cap space due to LTIR.

Be a 2nd rounder.. that’s a lot. MIN declines.

Boston passes on that NJ deal.

Gonna need something better for Duhaime. As mentioned above, he could get even something like a 2nd rounder. So at least a 3rd.

His services are quite wanted, after all.

I’d rather have Hendrickson than a third. My guess after this USHL season, Minnesota would as well.

Maybe. I haven't seen enough of him to judge. But I'd rather have a 2nd than Hendrickson for sure.

If Duhaime secures a second, I’d be happy for Minnesota and be a tad surprised

I’d be fine with that, but if Sweeney isn’t …. Would you really pass on this deal with your goaltending needs?

What if he refuses to do the playoff protection on the pick, which would you prefer?

I’m indifferent between the first and no Vanacek to Holtz from a Bruins perspective, but just trying to get an idea if the trade as suggested was what it took … would you take it? I tend to think neither side would walk away from it.

I think Boston could easily retain 50% on Forbort just to balance out salaries

From Bruins perspective, wouldn’t they want to wait until Swayman extension is done before they trade Ullmark? (Or maybe the deal is done, not announced).

From Devils perspective, we’d rather be bidding on Swayman over the summer…if long-term extension is not a lock. Price will be higher…but we are hopefully looking at a longer window here. An Ullmark rental could put us back in same spot in a year.

The Pastrnak deal was supposedly agreed to before the Winter Classic on February 4th, but wasn’t announced until after the trade deadline. I fully expect Swayman to be signed before the offseason and wouldn’t be shocked if it was already done

But Pastrnak deal didn’t really impact deadline…it’s not like there was junior pasta waiting in the wings…

If Boston were to sell Ullmark…they would want Swayman deal signed beforehand (if Ullmark gone, Swayman could flex his leverage and say, “I’m all you got…about another 10%”). If they felt Swayman may be hard to lock up…they wouldn’t move Ullmark.

And if the deal with Swayman is done…and they are looking at Ullmark trade…I don’t see how announcing the deal would hurt their chances in selling Ullmark (if anything it could help).

Just my take on it.

All I’m saying is if the deal was not done during the offseason break (Like Zacha), they generally wait until after the deadline to announce. Either way, I don’t see it as much of an impediment. You could also make the argument that it removes an attractive team from the equation if he wants to flex or threaten arbitration. They chose not to select the two year option with Swayman because they wanted to keep this window open.

I’m really just trying to ask the question … if the cost is Holtz/Vanacek for Ullmark and taking on Forbort (even if 50 percent retained), would you do it?

I don’t think waiting for Swayman is a smart strategy if that isn’t more than a nice sound byte
