Ducks have a logjam at LD. We’re certainly interested in Schneider though

Miller is better than all our LD except Mintyukov. If the Rangers somehow offered this we couldn't pass it up

I don’t disagree. But we can’t go bench our young developing LD. When Fowler is back we’ll be stuck with both Lacombe and Vaak on the bench, with Zellweger seriously jammed from getting NHL looks. Meanwhile, NYR are spoiled at RD with Fox and Trouba. It’d be in both team’s interest to focus on Schneider over Miller

NYR don't do this unless you also add some kind of LHD.

Welcome to CapFriendly in general and the enthusiastic and vociferous cadre of Anaheim supporters in particular!

I'm with my esteemed friend @jded -- I'd prefer Braden Schneider to K'Andre Miller, even given the latter's excellence. We can afford not to have Miller, but having Schneider would be a big boost. And we're entitled to ask for him, especially in light of the fact that we're retaining on Frankie and not Henrique.

The Rangers would not do this, nor would the Rangers trade Schneider. First off the retention would have to be 50% on Henrique. Secondly... You want Schneider? Then you send Gudas to NY, 50% retained on the rest of his contract and maybe we will think about it.

I made the point yesterday NYR aren’t likely to move Schneider right now since they need him for the cup run. I’d expect Othmann to be a more likely addition

Its very unlikely they trade Othmann also unless its in some crazy blockbuster deal.

Yeah I hear you. Out of the three assets I feel like ANA would be interested for Vatrano between Perreault (absolutely not happening), Schneider (probably too much of a downgrade for the cup run), and Othmann, he just feels the most likely.

My thought was something like:
ANA: Henrique + Vatrano + JPerreault
NYR ‘25 1st + Kakko + Oth

That package doesn't get you Miller or Kakko lmfao. Both are extremely valuable pieces that are currently helping the Rangers win-now. Joke of a deal

Calling Kakko valuable to a run is kind of a stretch.

Can find me one trade in the NYR history where they traded young talented players for 2 average 30 somethings and it worked out?
