ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
1Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-
Macklin Celebrini
CHI pick. Solid player, consensus #1. Will make a fun 1-2 punch with Bedard.
2Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-
Artyom Levshunov
SJS pick. Doesn't make sense for them to pass on Lev when they have literally nobody on defense other than Mukh and maybe Thrun
3Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-
Ivan Demidov
ANA pick. One could imagine them reaching for a defenseman, but I don't think that makes sense when adding Demidov to a top-six that could have McTavish, Carlsson, and maybe Zegras would be FUN to watch.
4Logo of the San Jose Sharks-
Cayden Lindstrom
CBJ pick. Don't see them passing on a forward at this position, especially a big one.
5Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-
Zayne Parekh
ARZ pick. They've been desperate for defensemen recently, and their right side is thinner than paper. Parekh is a reach by 1-2 spots which is acceptable.
6Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-
Cole Eiserman
MTL pick. This is probably the best place for Eiserman to work on his defensive game and become a player like Caufield - lethal shot, average defense.
7Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-
Konsta Helenius
NYI pick. OTT trades pick 7 to NYI for pick 11, a 2nd, and a 3rd. Islanders could use some young offense here, so they take a safe forward.
8Logo of the Washington Capitals-
Anton Silayev
BUF pick. Gotta think they can try to bet on upside with the depth of their prospect pool, and they have to leverage the fact that Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson can all play RD. (its sad that not everyone in that pool will pan out to their full potential)
9Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-
Zeev Buium
MIN pick. They could use a defenseman because of their aging D-core and not-so-great prospect pool.
10Logo of the St. Louis Blues-
Carter Yakemchuk
SEA pick. Their defense is old and mid, would do well reaching for a defenseman.
11Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-
Tij Iginla
CGY pick. Do I have to explain this?
12Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Ottawa Senators
Adam Jiricek
OTT pick. Originally I had them taking Yakemchuk here as a defenseman pick, but he's off the board, so we take another defenseman.
13Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-
Berkly Catton
STL pick. The defense is in trouble, but there are players who are too talented on offense to pass up.
14Logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins-
Michael BrandseggNygard
MTL pick. The Devils trade pick 14 to MTL for Sean Farrell, Jan Mysak, Oliver Kapanen, and pick 31. It would be hilarious if the Habs got this guy after making the right pick at 6
15Logo of the Nashville Predators-
Trevor Connelly
WSH pick. They need some offense, so they have to pick a forward here.
16Logo of the Calgary Flames-
Nikita Artamonov
VGK pick. SJS trades pick 16 to VGK for Nicolas Hague and pick 22
17Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the New York Islanders
Liam Greentree
CHI pick
18Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-
Sacha Boisvert
NSH pick
19Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Tampa Bay Lightning
Igor Chernyshov
PHI pick
20Logo of the Seattle Kraken-
Leon Muggli
TOR pick. TOR trades Nicholas Robertson and pick 32 to LAK for pick 20 and Carl Grundstrom
21Logo of the Minnesota Wild-
Ryder Ritchie
DET pick
22Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Los Angeles Kings
Aron Kiviharju
SJS pick
23Logo of the New York Rangers-
Emil Hemming
COL pick
24Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Edmonton Oilers
Henry Mews
EDM pick
25Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Toronto Maple Leafs
Cole Hutson
CAR pick
26Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the New Jersey Devils
Ryder Ritchie
DAL pick
27Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-
Andrew Basha
OTT pick
28Logo of the Toronto Maple LeafsLogo of the Boston Bruins
Terik Parascak
CGY pick
29Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Dallas Stars
Matvei Shuravin
NYR pick
30Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-
Beckett Sennecke
NJD pick
31Logo of the Colorado AvalancheLogo of the Florida Panthers
Charlie Elick
PHI pick
32Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-
Leo Sahlin Wallenius
LAK pick

I would say that the Blues are almost certainly gonna draft a D, but if we can't trade up and all of the D in our first picks range are taken then I approve of Berkly Catton

Why would New Jersey make that deal?

Nvm I take it back. You forgot Sam Dickinson which proabably pushes some Defender back to being available at the Blues pick.

Some of those trades are wild, Nic Hague is worth much more than moving up 6 spots and the Devils would not take that from the Habs. Also where's Dickinson

Love the Flames optimism but no way we make it that far. We probably pick 16th again this year.

The Blues will presumably be taking a Dman or trading up to take a Dman. And small Cs are not their thing anyway.

I like Muggli, but he's a huge reach at 20. The Leafs would be trading back to get Muggli, not trading up. If Toronto reaches on any defensemen, I think Pulkkinen or Fransen would be our choices. Very well put together mock though!

I definitely applaud the effort and thought put into this.

From a Sharks perspective, I think they'd only consider trading up, not down. I think if they're at 2 they do take Levshunov, but I think they'd look to take a center with the second pick. I think they'd go after Catton or Helenius. it's also looking like that PIT pick is going to be closer to 11 than 16+.

As for their roster, I think there's no chance Halttunen, Svaboda, Wiesblatt, Kiviharju, Cagnoni. Bystedt, Lund, Musty, Smith and Levshunov all make the roster. In fact the only one's who I think could fight for a spot are Musty, Smith, and then Gushchin is very likely going to be there.

If Chicago lands Celebrini, count on him as the 2C not on the wing with Bedard

Feel like there's no one who will be a first liner other than Bedard, Celebrini, maybe Nazar tho

To your point, there's even less on the 2nd line. For that reason, both Bedard and Celebrini need to be developed into centers until they can't handle it. One of Nazar or Moore may become a 3C or top 6 winger along with Reichel assuming he bounces back after a trial by fire in the NHL this season. However, most important positions up front are obviously 1C and 2C and so taking the most gifted players and developing them into those roles is more crucial then stacking the line with Bedard. Like Kane was, Bedard is so good that he will lift up the players on his flanks. When the Hawks are ready, probably a year from this summer, they will dip into free agency to add top 6 talent and fill gaps left behind from Moore, Nazar, Reichel, Bedard, and if they land Celebrini or Lindstrom in the draft.
