Wings Offseason

Created by: KidSweatshirt
Team: 2024-25 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 4, 2024
Published: Mar. 4, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sorry if this is bad, this is my first time attempting something like this.

The three scratched players are all, in my opinion, possible replacements for Kostin should Lalonde or Yzerman not want to play him.

We're a wildcard team trying to hang on to a spot I don't think just running it all back is gonna work. I've had enough ghost, sprong isn't signing that again and Kane might go to a team better able to contend. Need to upgrade the goaltending and blue line to be more competitive.

Sprong will get close to double that in UFA.

Soderblom has shown no signs of earning a spot in Detroit.

      Bergy has.

I think Matt Roy will be signed in UFA.

      He's a Michigan boy.

      Let Ghost walk.

Lose some O but gain some D.

Holl and Husso should be bought out.

I can't see any team trading for Fabbri with his 4 mil AAV.

Let him play out next season and then replace him with Danielson or Kasper the following season.

Perron is too old to get that contract.

Walman will remain paired with Seider.

      Edvinsson with Roy.

      Chiarot with Petry.

      Johansson as 7D.

      He deserves a shot.

At 23 the Red Wings need to see if he's an NHL D or not.

They really missed out on a guy like Killorn last off season, maybe a trade for Crouse in Arizona. Someone who can play top 6 and be physical. I'd say Bertuzzi but I think that is over. D wise if they let Ghost walk they will have 6 D and Edvinsson to compete for ice team, I feel like that is perfect. If they bring Ghost back just trade Holl or Maatta, whatever can be moved. This is a good team they just need to keep course and let their prospects challenge for roster spots going forward.

I think someone will pay sprong $4M with term so I think he is gone, Perron to a 1-2 year deal would be good, hopefully Kane stays in Detroit but he's probably looking at $5M

No to Fabbri. His next season at a 4M cap hit hinders us from signing guys like Stamkos and addressing other positions in the off-season. If TB is going out of its way to acquire a forward for 4M, just offer it to Sprong in UFA instead of giving up any assets.

Canes will have Andersen (if he's fully back to speed) and Kochetkov next season, no need for Husso. Even if Andersen ends up landing on LTIR for more treatment, I think the Canes would rather sniff around for someone like Saros or Gibson to run a 1A/1B.

Pretty sure every Wings fan would take Raymond at $7M and run... Just not for only 5 years.

      I'd give Raymond 8 years/7.5 mil AAV.

      Seider 8 years/9.5 mil AAV.

I agree with most of what you said but Fabbri is on a 44 point pace while playing limited minutes, with one year left at 4m I can’t see why there wouldn’t be a market for him. Maybe given his injury history but there wouldn’t be much risk anyway

The 3 knee surgeries. He's been healthy this season which is nice to see.

      Fabs still scores goals.

Which outweighs what he'd fetch in a trade.

Stevie will have to eat cap to dump Holl and Husso.

Last thing he needs is to retain on Fabbri.

But hey if Stevie can dump his 4 mil then go for it.
