Lindholm has been so bad here. While I wouldn't add Raty (the overall price of the deal would be rediculous), adding a 2nd to move on from a player that hasnt worked is something I would do.

High key seems really fair imo. Disappointing for Vancouver to give up all this in the end for guentzel but oh well

what the hell. that’s how you treat players? literally payed a big price to acquire him not long ago and trading him right after? allvin should be fired if this happens. bad management. and it probably wouldn’t happen anyways, even if the fit between Lindholm and Vancouver isn’t perfect

Wait is this really a thing? Like could this really happen. Could Lindholm be traded again or y’all are just playing around.

I think maybe Lindholm for 2025 1st + Debrusk + 3rd or equivalent and VAN flips the picks and some prospects for Guentzel

Don't really want Lindholm unless VAN is giving him away

I’d argue it’s good management. Lindholm hasn’t worked out here so far and flipping him to acquire a better player who would likely be a better fit is a savvy move. But I agree I don’t think it’ll happen

Maybe Debrusk? Or a three team trade where Pittsburgh retains (not 100% sure if that cap would work or not)

Forbort and a 3rd team retains 25% on Lindholm.

It's gotta be money in-money out. It might be a defensemen, I doubt Lindholm fetches JD at this point.

He's been real bad in VAN, so I'm sure it's going to be somewhat of a bargain.

good news bad news - i think boston is overpaying (i'm sure they've seen lindholm play this year, and it's not been great), that's the bad news. the good news is that's a bonkers overpay for guentzel.

ultimately i think two things hold this up:
1. it would have to be a three way trade rather than two separate transations. bruins needed retention on lindholm, and the same is true now. vancouver isn't doing it, so i'm sure pittsburgh would have to. boston would also need to ditch salary, and again, pittsburgh would have to be eating it.
2. Boston reportedly wouldn't trade for the player without an extension in the drawer. That likely hasn't changed, except their offer is probably a whole lot lower. If I'm Lindholm, there's no shot i'm signing an extension before UFA. His leverage is super low right now.

How can you make the wrong decision at the first place. How can you go after the wrong player.

Would DeBrusk be in a deal. Or Forbort just goes to the 3rd team. So clears 3M.

I didn’t put too much thought into the trade packages, just kinda put some pieces in. A 3 team trade with Pittsburgh retaining would make sense. What pieces are involved apart from Lindholm to Boston and Guentzel to Vancouver would be interesting

I don't think Debrusk would go. I'm expecting Boston to hold onto him. He's one of the streakiest hockey players I've ever seen, and having a guy that can absolute take over games when he's hot is something you want in the playoffs.

Anyway, I don't think any of this can happen, but if it does, we should all get one thing straight - vancouver is going to get screwed her. No way they're going to recoup anywhere near the value they gave to get lindholm.

This is not fun if you're a vancouver fan, they would get absolutely gashed value wise. In some sort of three way I think maybe Boston moves a first for Lindholm retained. That's probably the maximum. It's pretty rough when a guy from a bad team goes to a good team, stinks, and the good team wants to give up on him after a month. I think the maximum would be a three way trade where Boston moves Forbort, and a first for Lindholm with some retention, and a depth d man.
