Maybe Im crazy but I think that giving up brodie and robertson for parayko and sundqvist would hurt the leafs not make them better considering brodie is one of the few lefties who is pretty solid at RD. Also parayko has a full NTC and I dont think brodie would have STL on his list of teams for his M-NTC

The Jackets have a blueliner logjam and so there's no reason to pay assets for another, so no thanks to Timmins.

Especially considering he's replacement level, makes above league-min, and has term. He's at best the 8th-D on Columbus. I think Toronto's best hope is that a contender takes a chance on him for a 6th or 7th as playoff depth, but then it just makes more sense for Toronto to keep him for that exact reason.

tears of joy

Do us all a favor and tell all your TML buds this. Like every 10 minutes for the rest of the week. We'll send you a muffin basket for thanks, but it won;t be near enough.

It's a really minor deal, but fwiw I still think it makes more sense to send him to a contender looking for bodies/depth. He's a little too old to be useful to a rebuilding team long-term, so you wouldn't be getting an asset back from them. The realistic options imo are solely 1) to a contender looking for cheap depth for a 6th or 7th (where it makes sense to just keep him since the Leafs are a contender), or 2) as part of a deal to a seller for a rental as a contract/cap space going back.
