Boston isn’t trading Swayman and certainly isn’t doing it for Lindholm, Toffoli. I doubt they’d consider Mercer and he’s a better long term option.

Yeah I get that but until he's got a longterm deal you never knew what was going to happen. NJ has had its fair share of "wow wtf" moments for me to know that sometimes crazy unexpected things happen (Like Kovalchuk retiring 3 years into a 15 year deal and mid prime at age 27) but they'll slow significantly/stop once he signs a max term deal

Agreed. But until then I will remain hopeful of the possibility, however remote, of a 25 year old elite goalie becoming available
