i am 100% convinced now that steve staios is actually dorion in disguise.

OTT has no future with GMs that suck

SN comments are wrecking staios over this, most likely Twitter/X is also.

Well Staios didn’t give him the NTC that allowed the price to be so cheap. That NTC drove the price down

At this rate, Staios is going to move Chychrun for a couple of seconds.

I’m assuming his NTC had a lot to do with that return being what it is.

I was expecting something like what the Blues got last year when Tarasenko also had a NTC.

    A low 1st + a conditional 3rd or 4th.

No kidding! That is extremely low. I would expect them to be able to get more than that, especially since Mantha got a 2nd+. I know he had a NTC, but still…

OTT did not have to trade Senko, they could have told him sorry no one wants to do fair trade your staying, no trade is better than a bad one 100% of the time.

It's better to keep a player that isn't going to re-sign on a team going nowhere rather than get something? That might make you feel righteous in the moment but you'd rather have the assets when it comes to doing more deals later or making the picks.

that is a stupid statement, i guess if a team offered 2 7th for Stu OTT should accept because 2 picks is better than none.

So what you’re saying is that you’d rather let Tarasenko walk in the summer for nothing, as opposed to getting two 3rds for him? Good thing you aren’t the GM.

well no because stutzle has 7 more years under contract. Vlad would have been gone for absolutely nothing in 3 months regardless and the season is not amounting to anything. Zito knows tarasenko is not staying with the sens past this year, so why would he offer premium picks for a guy he knows we are going to trade?

by that logic ALL Rentals should only garner 4th to 7th round picks....getting tired of excuses for bad trades, bad singings bad decisions from this team. you wont see Yzerman make these bad trades....**** Senko had a NTC last year and would only waive for NYR and STL still got a crap more than this...

yeah but you know thats not how that works for a variety of reasons. St louis wanted to contend last year & wanted to keep him so to make it worthwhile for the blues the rangers had to pony up. Everyone and their mother knew tarasnko was getting traded because we suck and hes not a long-term or even short-term fit moving forwards

perhaps the plan is to resign vlad in the summer and just let him go now at a low price to his desired team since staios had no leverage

We have 1 in 2027... And Tre would trade assets to get a second if he was offered that tbh

Ottawa's only saving grace is the difference between Chychrun's and Tarasenko's trade protection.

With Chychrun having a 10 team no-trade list and Tarasenko having a full NTC.

    But even then ...

The reasons behind it make it very easy to understand. I knew it, most of us knuckleheads knew it, Staios knew it, it's just you psycho Sens Fans that keep chirpy and demanding a 1st or Lundells or Schneiders cause that's what you need lol. With all the non stop guarantees about how Sens were going to outscore every team no matter what all summer long.
Hate to say it but... we told you so
    ...so, so many times lol
