Oh TopCorner, I found something important. You apparently didn't have the 2018 CAR 2nd when you sent it to me.

According to the trade tracker thread, that pick was dealt from Carolina to San Jose, to St. Louis, to Detroit, to Nashville, and finally to Ottawa. Because of that, Ottawa and I are both shown as having CAR's 2nd, though he's the one that is supposed to have it.

Because of this, may I have the 2018 FLA 2nd?

I'd rather just take my chances with Ryan Callahan than trade for another guy who underproduced.

I'm not a huge fan of Schultz and I already have 4 top 6 RHD.

I'm totally unsure, but you can trade Howard whenever if you get an offer for him.

I had to think about it, but in the end it creates more problems than it solves for me.
I'd have to trade Dillon and Cammalleri to make it work.
If you want to put it on the shelf for now, I'll look around and see if I can make the necessary moves to accommodate this trade.

The other option is to switch Enstrom with Cammalleri and add Dillon and Abdelkader.
Better D-man and skilled player in place of one of your grittier players.

I don't know about that but I will think about it. I don't think Dillon is as good as Abdelkader though.

Right, but as I said earlier, I don't think any of those players you are offering are any better than the 3 cap dumps from my side, they're about the same level of suckage, yet you want me to toss in Goldobin for free lol. None of those players are any bit attractive to me.

Cap saving is the gain here. Ericcson is signed for another 3 years @ 4.25M. Probably will be bought out next summer in Detroit. Guys like lack and or Condra are 1 year deals only at less AAV. Easier to trade away at the deadline also.

Hmm. I think Dillon is better and I won't get into my opinion of Abdelkader, suffice to say I don't actually want him, I just need to move Dillon to make room for Ericsson in a potential trade. I'd be open to something else, but I only have room for 4th liners and Abdelkader is the best suited to the role with a comparable salary attached.

Amac and Giardi cost more and Ericsson is better than Condra or Lack. Condra is an AHLer and Lack barely saved at a 90% clip the last 2 seasons. All of those guys are worse than Ericsson in atleast one dimension of measuring value so I wouldn't add to him for any of those players, unless the add was like the value of a 5th rounder or less.

Fine, forget AMac and Girardi then, I was just trying to see if it was possible to move them in a deal. The point is you'd be shedding a ton of cap and getting a couple cheap 1 year contracts in place in Lack and Condra. But If your going to continue to overvalue guys like Ericcson than we can stop negotiating here. No one is believing you. Ericcson is just as bad as AMac and Girardi....... Condra and Lack suck too Im not saying they don't, they just cost peanuts and are movable at the deadline for a late pick if anything. Instead your stuck with guys like Ericcson who are likely to be bought out next year IRL but you'll be stuck with that cap... unless you buy him out yourself which then again is dead cap.

I swapped Enstrom with Cammalleri. If I'm moving a D-man I'd prefer it be Dillon for someone with some value that can at least help my bottom 6.
Since we aren't a match there, I figure we just forget those parts and we can look elsewhere for the remainder of the trade on our own.
