Third line centre who doesn’t skate like he permanently wears ankle weights and is decent defensively.

I don’t think Montreal has that. Centres are either better than my description or worse.

Anyone who says Dvorak has to spend a week camping out in that grimey area near berri-uqam

What do you think is Rosen ceiling and floor?

I was thinking a combination of Luke Tuch and a pick, or Sean Farrell.

Ceiling: two way top six forward who can work the cycle.

Floor: bottom six even strength guy with flashes of skill.

Clearly MTL doesn't have a perfect fit for BUF, but one option is RHP and a decent pick. Center is not necessarily the best place to play him, but he is decent still

I actually love RHP, but unfortunately it’s gotta be a natural centre. We get crushed on face offs and it’s very likely savoie is a winger at the nhl level. Meaning after Krebs, the next best centre is ostlund, who is at least two years away.

Don’t think we trade Rosen unless it’s as part of a package for a Top4 RD

That's what I thought as well, RHP isn't really fit down the middle. The next best we got is Evans, who is definitely underrated. He gets the job done on the PK and face-off dot, good contract. Not sure he has real 3rd line numbers though, he likely puts 25-30 pts this year, but that's probably not 3rd line numbers

Savard short term
Barron longer term
can attach some sort of a pick as well to one of them

Yeah I like Evans but that’s more a Krebs replacement if they move him (I doubt it though)

Don’t listen to him the team that has Byram, dahlin, power and Samuelsson isn’t adding more defense.

He’s still probably posting acgm talking about how “mittelstadt definitely isn’t getting traded” lol

Neither are good enough imo
I think if we target a RD, we go big- someone like Andersson from CGY

Why would MTL target Rosen in the first place ? He isn’t a need at all, we got a guy like Joshua Roy

For Rasmus Andersson, it would cost a prospect like Savoie, not Rosen

We lack RW in the pool, and he has the potential to be a pretty complete middle or top 6 winger with skills. I think there is definitely a fit depending on the price

1- I’d said as part of a package
2- i don’t think there’s a lot of difference between Savoie & Rosen

To be fair, I didn’t expect Mittelstadt to be traded either. I also thought Adams would have the balls to make sure we got more than just Byram in return, seeing as we should have the upper hand in the deal. Before you say, “that’s not enough?” Being that he is an RFA at the end of the season Buffalo didn’t have to trade Mitts now. Colorado was desperate to get him and should’ve had to pay more for that reason alone. But like Botterill before him Adams never seems to know when he should push instead of getting pushed.

Evans could work as a fourth Line center, but he would not be enough of a return for Rosen by himself, of course. I still like the idea of getting Luke Tuch, who brings a more physical game that we desperately need and might be pro ready a little faster than some of our other prospects.

Wow, I though Buffalo fans were gonna ask for way more. What I would offer :
Mesar (Buffalo add second and third)
Barron (Buffalo add late first)
Beck (Buffalo add second)
Xhekaj (1 for 1)
Engstrom (mtl add second)
Harris (mtl add second and fifth)
Struble (Buffalo add second)

In a way I did. We dont have room for another d-man, that eliminates half this list. And we need the next forward add to be a legit nhl player. Which eliminates the rest

I get that’s your opinion,
but it’s close enough that there’s GMs out there who could see them in the same tier- or even have Rosen ranked higher
