I don't think 3rds are really that important. you have about a 12% chance of a player making the NHL.

Don't mind Fischer as a depth signing actually if he comes this cheap. I do *like* Valimaki but I still think the right side could use an upgrade or two over the left

A 3rd in a deep draft that we'll have 2 (maybe 3 depending on Pitt) 1sts and we can potentially use to move up would be useful. Another 2 mil forward to scratch or sit on the 4th line for 2 years isn't totally the worst.

trust me, the further 3rd round picks are from San Jose, the better. Since 1994, the only worthwhile 3rd round picks made have been, Thomas Greiss and hopefully Daniil Gushchin.
