At less than 1/4 retention, I'm not sure its appealing. at 50% retention I'd take the gamble and a 3rd round pick I'd take the gamble.

As good as Marchessault is, he's not the type of player Habs should go after. Especially at 33 years old with a $8mil x 4year deal...

side note, as much as I'd rather keep Evans. Dvorak should be the one who stays. Habs still need a left shot Center. Giving the keys to the 3rd line to Beck right away is a stretch, but if you pair him with a vet Center who can play on the wing, that would work. And if you can fire one of Anderson or Armia into the sun, I'd honestly look at re-signing Monahan. He's a left shot, can play both C and LW, and would fit nicely in the middle 6.
